ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Star Jonathan Majors Confirms Kang The Conqueror Role In Comic Store

Jonathan Majors finally confirmed that he'll suit up as Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania during a recent appearance at a comic book store, Golden Apple Comics, in Hollywood.

When Jonathan Majors was cast in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, it was widely reported that the actor would be taking on the role of Kang the Conqueror. He's since played coy, refusing to confirm or deny that he will indeed be suiting up as the time-travelling villain in the threequel.

There are certainly plenty of fans who are convinced Kang will be revealed as Loki's big bad, likely in his Immortus persona, but it's hard to say whether that's something regular viewers will be able to keep up with! After all, time travel is a confusing concept at the best of times, and Majors playing multiple versions of Kang across the Marvel Cinematic Universe could get pretty convoluted.

Regardless, Majors was recently spotted at Golden Apple Comics and happily confirmed that he's playing Kang. As you can see below, he even signed the store's R2-D2 as Kang, telling them that "it was the first time he has EVER signed Kang on anything."

As much fun as the actor appears to have had here, there was some bad news for him over the weekend too. HBO has confirmed that they won't be moving forward with a second season of Lovecraft Country, a series Majors starred in alongside Black Canary actress Jurnee Smollett.

"We will not be moving forward with a second season of Lovecraft Country," HBO confirmed in a statement to Deadline. "We are grateful for the dedication and artistry of the gifted cast and crew, and to Misha Green, who crafted this groundbreaking series. And to the fans, thank you for joining us on this journey."

At least that will give him plenty of time to commit to playing Kang in the MCU, eh?

Hope that he doesnt only appear in Ant Man 3, would be such a waste not to utilize him as a bigger villain

@MeAreLegend - I'm hoping they're saving him for Avengers 5. Doubt he'll have a substantial role in Quantumania (since we also have storythreads from the first two needing to be resolved)

@MeAreLegend - I’m sure he will be the next big villain going forward for at least this phase.

@MeAreLegend - The Ant-Man movie villains haven't really been the strongest characters thus far. Hope the threat feels bigger and more formidable in this one.

@MeAreLegend - That's my worry, I hope Peyton Reed doesn't make him a throwaway villain.

@MrDandy - I certainly hope so! Kang is a really cool character and I liked him alot in Avengers Forever. Just a bit weird that they would use him for Ant-Man as THE main villain

@MosquitoFarmer - I hope so too. I did like Ghost as a ‘villain’ but she never felt like a threat and ant man movies have always felt very low stakes to me

@ShellyMando - I highly doubt that decision begins and ends with Reed.

I've been watching Lovecraft Country, so I'm looking forward to seeing him in the role.
Already in great shape as well.

@bkmeijer -

Just a really good show, I like that it headed straight into the adventure and didn't take it's time

@bobevanz -

Some places say that it was always meant to be a limited series, whereas others say it was cancelled

@SimplyAz - agreed. I was expecting the whole season to be about the roadtrip, but instead that was resolved in the first two episodes and every episode after so far has been it's own story.

I still don't think he'll appear in Loki though. Probably just coincidental he signs one

Not surprised about Lovecraft Country's fate considering how it ended but was surprised to first learn (some time ago so him finally admitting it doesn't mean much at this point) of his getting the character of Kang. He is a better than decent actor but has never really blown me away in anything and I have seen him in a few things. But having said that I'm always open to see what an actor can do with a role because good actors have a tendency to surprise you especially when you don't expect that much from them. I do hope he knocks the role out of the park and can be a continuing thorn in the side of many of Marvel's heroes for years to come.

That Avengers #267 was the second Marvel Comic I bought,the first being Uncanny X-Men #205.

It seems to me Kang is being wasted having his debut in Ant-Man 3.

Just don't waste him please. Hearing the reactions to Taskmaster in Black Widow is dissapointing, so fingers corssed that it isn"t the case with Kang.
