The second trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania debuted earlier tonight, spotlighting some exciting new footage from Marvel Studios' first Phase 5 adventure.
The Kang-focused teaser showcases an intense battle between The Conqueror and Ant-Man, while giving us a better idea of what to expect from the plot (it seems Scott is going to make a deal with the devil for more time with his daughter, Cassie).
We also get a good look at M.O.D.O.K. preparing for battle, but eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the "Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing" actually appears earlier on in the trailer.
Around the 0.57 mark, we get a quick glimpse of Lang and his allies walking ahead of Kang, and M.O.D.O.K. can be seen floating in the background without his protective mask! Last year, a persistent rumor that Corey Stoll's Darren Cross was set to return as the megalomaniacal villain did the rounds, and the brightened-up shot below would seem to confirm it.
This image has come in for some ridicule online, but, for better or worse, it is a far more comic-accurate design for the character!
Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.
Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.
The sci-fi adventure opens in theaters on Feb. 17, 2023.
