AQUAMAN: It Sounds Like Jason Momoa Will Don A Fully Comic Accurate Costume In The Movie

According to a new report, we should expect to see Jason Momoa's Aquaman suit up in a colourful costume identical to his comic book counterpart in the upcoming movie from James Wan. Read on for details!

Jason Momoa's Aquaman was definitely a highlight in Justice League even if the movie never delved into his origin and provided a very disappointing take on Atlantis with an awkward underwater exchange between Arthur Curry and Mera. However, his solo outing is shaping up to be something truly special and fans of the comics will be glad to hear that the hero may don a certain costume.

According to The Aquaman Shrine, they recently attended a Warner Bros. licensing event and saw a Halloween costume for the movie which is "exactly" like the version we see in the comics today.

A statue started doing the rounds last year showing Momoa suited up in that costume (which you can see below) and while it was thought to be fan-made, it now seems far more likely that it's real.

We'll have to wait and see but considering the fact that the first official images from Aquaman showed Momoa shirtless, we may have to wait until the trailer is released before finding out if this is accurate. Considering how the Atlantean king looked in Justice League, they can do it without it looking bad.

wasn’t the while point of momoa being cast to not use traditional aquaman? why make him the traditional aquaman in his solo film? commit to a characterization, dammit. besides, this prettyboy look doesn’t suit dothrakiman.

The highlight? He was barely a real character.

I might be wrong, but from what I remember, in the entirety of Justice League Aquaman swims underwater three times, he controls water once, and he never once controls any sea creatures. In the entire final battle he doesn’t do anything but jump around and stab things. He was basically just a male, less cool Wonder Woman, or an even more surfer dude version of Thor.

@NOVAtheSUPA - They should've at least set the final battle on the coast. I wanted to see something like this:
