AQUAMAN LEGO Minfigures May Give Us Some Idea Of The Costume Design For Black Manta

Thanks to a first look at the LEGO minfig of Black Manta, we might have a pretty good idea of how the villain's comic-accurate costume will be depicted in James Wan's Aquaman movie. Check it out...

Images of three LEGO minifigs from the upcoming Aquaman movie sets have popped up on Instagram, and one of 'em might give us some idea of what to expect from Black Manta's (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) character design.

The CinemaCon footage descriptions had already revealed that the villain's costume would be very comic-accurate, and that certainly seems to be reflected here. Obviously we shouldn't put to much stock in the appearance of a tiny plastic toy, but the overall design and color, at least, will probably be quite similar.

In addition, we have first looks at Mera (Amber Heard) and The King of Atlantis (Jason Momoa) himself. As you can see, Arthur Curry is sporting that much brighter armor that was glimpsed in some set images from Australia's Gold Coast last year.

Aquaman is set to swim into theaters later this year.

Something about these looks off. They sort of look like really well-done Legos you can buy on ebay and Etsy.

So... when do you guys think we will get our first look? The logical answer seems to be San Diego Comic Con, but do you think there is any chance of getting it earlier?

I always thought that Black Manta’s helmet looked odd anyways but if anybody can make it look cool it’s James Wan.

If Aquaman performs well I think that James Wan might take on an overseer type role for the DCEU.

@WruceBayne - If they are not putting Patty Jenkins in charge of anything when her movie killed it, i doubt they will put Wan in charge of anything. WB needs a mastermind like Feige, we thought it was Geoff Johns, but that got nixed way to fast. also with them taking so long for a second MOS or a solo Batman movie when those are the two biggest characters of your company, i mean...come the F^%@ on. WW2 should be good, pray for Aquaman - everything else with them just needs to go through someone with a great vision.

@Gizmoduck - The problem is not Geoff Johns. The problem is the executives of Warner Bros who are alyaws interfering with the DC movies. Since Kevin Feige took control of the film part of MCU, he is the one in charge of all MCU movies and he only responds to the CEO of Disney but Disney doesn't interfere with the movie production.

@Gizmoduck - I agree. They need one person to oversee their movies. Why they got rid of Geoff Johns, I don’t know.

@WruceBayne -
That's already happening as Wan and his people are either directing DC films or heading up DC Films. Plus Wan is producing Swamp Thing for DC Universe.

@turboloid - Well, Geoff Johns IS an executive. I'll never understand why some DC fans talk about him like he's just some kind of puppy or piece of furniture. "Poor Geoff. He's always so innocent, so powerless".
