While HitFix are a reliable source for news, we all know better than to take something for granted until the official press release lands or one of the Hollywood trades confirms rumours such as the one about a certain Atlantean member of DC's premier superhero team. Well, The Hollywood Reporter has now revealed that Jason Momoa will indeed play Aquaman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, before taking on a larger role in Justice League. Both movies will shoot back to back. Momoa was originally said to be in talks for a role last December, but has denied these claims since. However, that has of course become expected, and we now know that the team so far consists of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Aquaman. While Green Lantern and The Flash have been rumoured, there hasn't been any casting news on those roles as of yet.

Not a bad choice! I think he'll do a great job. If there's one thing Snyder's good at, it's casting.

Once again, where is the confirmation? If I said
"Sources say Batman vs Superman will take place 1 year before Man of Steel" What does that really mean? Nothing, that's what. Unless WB/DC come out and confirm this, I'm not buying it

So this confirmation isn't actual confirmation? It's just more likely

Odd casting. I hope we get more than the savage Aquaman it seems they're leading to.

It's funny though. Half of me is thinking this is terrible casting, the other is thinking its great. Certainly looking forward to what he brings.

Cooliovids-actually THR is pretty reliable newssource but i can understand and i will wait too for official confirmation

cool choice, truth be told,i havent seen the guy in anything,i havent watched game of thrones,i know i should,i will eventually, also,i know some people are gonna be like or atleast the trolls that this is his middle finger to marvel we lli shall direct u to these quotes he made when he was aked about his guardians audition..."I think it's perfectly cast," Momoa tells Zap2it at a lunch promoting his new Sundance Channel drama "The Red Road." "Dave is perfect for that role, for Drax. It didn't really fit in my time because I've done so many things where I don't say much and I'm colored up and I have my shirt off again. I made a conscious choice to turn down some movies that were action-based to direct 'Road to Paloma' so people could see that side."

As to why he ended up not wanting the role, "I want my children to see their father happy. It's not that it's not a good role, it just wasn't the right thing. I was on 'Stargate: Atlantis' for four years playing a similar character called Ronon, who was an alien who didn't say much and grunted. I've been there and done that, whether people have seen it or not. You want to stretch."

Momoa had nothing but kind things to say about "Guardians" leading man Chris Pratt, who read with him during his audition.

"One of the funnest auditions I've ever done in my life was with him. He's phenomenal. He's going to kill it. It's going to be amazing," Momoa says. "It's a whole Han Solo vibe. It's going to be a phenomenal movie. I'm glad that he is the lead of that. He's funny as hell, man. He can improv; he just acts circles around me. It was really, really fantastic."

In addition to his work on "The Red Road" and his directorial debut "Road to Paloma," Momoa would like to continue showcasing different sides of his talent by trying new projects like comedies. And though he ended up not joining "Guardians of the Galaxy," there are some other comic book superheroes he'd like to play in the future.

"There's definitely some, absolutely," he says. "I was a huge comic book fan, and I still am." Just don't expect him to reveal which characters he's gunning for. "I'm not going to tell you the ones I collect, because then you'd know," he says with a laugh.

anyway,i think, just by look and also i have ehard he is a pretty good actor too,i think he can be a cool Aquaman

At least they'll be bringing WW and Aquaman to the big screen before Ms. Marvel and Namor. Flash will look like familiar territory by the time he gets his spotlight.

Whats wrong with Momoa?

He is a competent actor much better than Chris Hemsworth IMO.
