Director James Wan Explains Why No Other JUSTICE LEAGUE Members Will Appear In AQUAMAN
The underwater world of Atlantis will be the focus of the Aquaman movie, and now director James Wan explains why no heroes from the surface world, including the Justice League, will appear in the DC film.
Last year's Justice League film wasn't the best received DC movie, but there were still some fans who wondered or hoped that some members of the super team would appear in James Wan's Aquaman.
But when Entertainment Weekly asked the director this question, he made it very clear none of the surface world heroes would be joining Arthur Curry (Jason Mamoa) on his journey.
"I wanted to keep the story to the world of Aquaman and not have to worry about what other characters are doing in their films and how that would affect us," the director explained. "I just thought the simplest way was to keep it clean — keep it simple and let it be an Aquaman story."
While we might not see anyone else from the Justice League come in to assist Arthur in his battle again Ocean Master (Patrick Wilson), there is still a good chance that we'll at least get a reference to the wider DC Universe.
But what do you folks think of Wan's comments? Did you want to see heroes like Wonder Woman and Superman to appear? Make sure to share your thoughts in the comments below.
