Courtesy of a good friend at heart, inside one of their recent production updates, the ever-reliable Production Weekly provided a minor update for Marvel's crossover extravaganza The Avengers. Though director Joss Whedon has clarified that this wouldn't be so, two fellow Avengers, who many have questioned their existence, are included in the roster. Select the screened image below.



While the intended update didn't involve revealing, nor confirming that the Pyms are in The Avengers, a strong possibility still remains. And also notice that Iron Man 2 actor Don Cheadle is listed to appear in the film as well. For creditability, several other production updates are listed, including ones for Warner Bros. The Dark Knight Rises, Superman, The Man of Steel, and many other non-CBM adaptations.

Whether or not we see Hank & Janet, The Avengers hits the big-screen next year in 3D. And production is currently slated to commence in New Mexico, in April. What do you think?

I am not very familliar with production weekly but are they usually correct with their information because if they are then there is a good possibility this is true!

Fingers crossed! Still, with so much else bound to be going on in this movie, I'd happily sacrifice them to stop The Avengers becoming a mess! The quickest way to introduce the character would be as S.H.I.E.L.D scientists and tell their origins via flashbacks (as has been rumoured) in the Ant-Man solo movie. Good stuff DCMF.

Omg the ant-man fans so pissed their pants when they saw this tittle. lol

I think they show up in the after credits. I know how hard it would be to make this movie with a shitload of super stars. Movies are not like comics.

REgardless, I know this movie will rock however. Who knows, may be JW can pull this off.

And this just goes for the people that waste so much time in meaningless discussions prior to the movie! Ant-man and wasp may be in afterall!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Lee those are the perfect ones for the roles for me too man! PW and MB are simply born for these roles!!!!!

I call fake, why would they not have Renner and Jackson not listed and have the Wasp and Antman whom do not even have actors attached. Yeah I d love to see them in it but at the same time I dont want this to have a mass amount of flashbacks and back story hence the reason for the individual movies to prevent that much retelling.

This doesn't quite fit in with everything we know. Hawkeye and the Black Widow were introduced "as Avengers" at Comic Con Cheadle certainly was not.

oh man i really hope this is true. now they just need to scrap widow. i want avengers not ultimates.i also hope cheadle just does a cameo, war machine should not be in this. btw cap looks absolutely horrible in that pic above.

Man I hope this is real, antman and wasp deserve to be in this movie they have been there from the beginning. Wasp has become one of my favorite characters from the animated show I think she could bring the same humor/spunk to the movie

The point of the first Avengers movie is to focus on characters that Marvel Studios has already developed through other films (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America). I feel that if they add too many new characters, then the movie will begin to lose its focus. Honestly, I'm already skeptical about bringing Hawkeye into the mix (although I think Renner will do a fine job). But in my opinion, Ant-Man and Wasp should be saved for the sequel and for their own movie first.

They want to make that unnecessary
stupid ANT-MAN movie first. But
man I wish Hank & Jan were.

Ant-man was only in there for the
first couple of comic issues of THE
AVENGERS then they ditched the dumb
idea for GIANT-MAN.

Forget ANT-MAN it's lame, go right
to GIANT-MAN or better yet YELLOW
JACKET (who can both grow and shrink)
with JAN as WASP! No need for
their own movie they're mainly an
"INTEGRAL" part of THE AVENGERS.

Hank & Jan should be there before
HAWKEYE & BLACK WIDOW. HAWK & WIDOW
never got their own movies yet there
they are in the first AVENGERS movie.

There is no need to have an ANT-MAN
& WASP movie at all. The ANT-MAN comic
ran so briefly it ain't funny! So Ant-man
sure doesn't warrant his own movie.

YELLOW JACKET & WASP is a much more
exciting dynamic and all they need to
be is introduced in the first AVENGERS
movie.

Hawkeye and Black Widow shouldn't even be
in the first AVENGERS movie, JAN should
be the WOMAN in the group. But Hawkeye
and the Widow are already there so if
Whedon was doing this right he would bring
in Jan as WASP for more feminine presence
in the first movie and have HANK as YJ
along with her!

Whedon has done big ensembles quite
successfully, adding WASP & YJ to the mix
would not be that big of a deal. And they
MUST be there for this AVENGERS movie to be
authentic, THE REAL DEAL!

@DDD Yes, but Black Widow was a prominent figure in Iron Man 2, so she's pretty established as a character already and the audience is familiar with her. Like I said, I'm still skeptical about Hawkeye appearing in the Avengers. He's apparently going to cameo in Thor (which I'm not sure I agree with in the first place), but I'm still a little curious as to how that will work.

And think about it in this perspective. We already have Nick Fury, Agent Coulson, Black Widow, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, the Hulk, and possibly War Machine in one movie. That's a lot of characters to focus on (even for Whedon) and the addition of two more characters might make things even more complicated.

In my opinion, Ant-Man and Wasp should get their own movie first (which is what Edgar Wright is focusing on). They could add a lot to an Avengers sequel if they bring Pym's creation of Ultron into the mix as well.

Plus guys, I kind of doubt that they will be in the Avengers since Edgar Wright, Kevin Feige, and Joss Whedon have already denied it. Wright is already working on an Ant-Man movie anyway, and my guess is that they will be starting with an origin story of some sort.

Captain America is supposed to be the
leader of THE AVENGERS not a government
asshole like SLJ'S FURY. FURY ain't an
AVENGER AT ALL! He shouldn't even be in
there! AVENGERS are a private citizens group!

Get rid of FURY and SHIELD and make this
the real citizen's super-assemblage THE
AVENGERS!

Have TONY STARK flip off the government
like he did in IM2 (just cuz he can) and
have him form the ALL citizen's superhero
group of IRON-MAN, YELLOW JACKET, WASP,
CAPTAIN AMERICA, THOR, HAWKEYE and BLACK
WIDOW. The HULK should only be in the
first movie briefly and then quickly gone
like he was in the AVENGERS comics. He's
brainless, how can he be a consistent
contributing member? He's a dimwitted
monster, for cripes sakes!

Man, I hate this government S.H.I.E.L.D.
control crap injected into the free-citizens,
group THE AVENGERS!
