Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” published in 1963. They really should release an extended version

I think I can see why these scenes were deleted. So much product placement.

LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 9/12/2015, 7:22 AM
Christ the first 5 scenes are all from the same scene, WHY DO THEY KEEP CUTTING DURING THE SHOTS?!?!?!?!

Whedon wouldn't [frick]ing do that so either Disney did it for Blu-Ray/DVD or the making of this video did it.
DrKinsolving
DrKinsolving - 9/12/2015, 7:34 AM
Seriously, that Quicksilver/Scarlett Witch scene is so [frick]ing good, great acting all around, why would you cut that?

And, I definitely want more Quicksilver now, such horseshit. Aaron Taylor-Johnson owned that role, you can really tell from that deleted scene

DrKinsolving - 9/12/2015, 7:43 AM
Also, paint Hemsworth red and give him a Mephisto makeover and he would have completely nailed the role

He was totally channeling Mephisto in that cave scene, haha

I really hope we see Mephsto on screen

@DrHankPym

It has nothing to do with Quicksilver. In the Youtube video 10 seconds into every scene, we see the title card "Avengers: Age of Ultron - Deleted Scenes - Part [insert number here]" and some of the scenes aren't deleted. They are the same scene as the scene before it. Hell sometimes it's cut during the same shot as the scene before. How about showing the whole scene and then showing a title card to begin a new deleted scene?

It's so [frick]ing stupid.

@DrHankPym

I was watching in on the Youtube video. Try watching that, 10 seconds into every scene it cuts off in the middle of a shot.

Boy, no matter how much you sugar-coat it, Hulk and Widow is just G-A-R-B-A-G-E.

They should have definitely kept these scenes. They expanded on some characters and clarified several plot elements and would only have added a few minutes to the film...
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 9/12/2015, 11:36 PM
they should've kept at least the cave scene and some of the scene with the Twins to transition into their first encounter with Ultron a bit more smoothly.
other than that, really didn't care much for the rest.

Damn. All this would have made AOU even better.

Yes I'm one of the crazy people who AOU was [frick]ing awesome. These scenes that were cut up for time's sake lost A LOT. Such a [frick]ing shame.
kakinurmawth
kakinurmawth - 9/12/2015, 11:41 PM
the full scene of cap and hill. Goddamn that was perfect.

the full scene of them talking over the peace picture was needed as well.

None of these should have been taken out, much like most of the MCU movies deleted scenes.

Mhmmm these would have helped pace the film a lot more smoother. That Pietro scene should have been included.
GetsugaTensho22
GetsugaTensho22 - 9/13/2015, 2:37 AM
The only scene they should have kept is the Cave scene. It would definitely flesh out Thor's entire role in the film, besides being the Hammer Guy.

That Sakovia scene is cringe-worthy.
Demiurge
Demiurge - 9/13/2015, 4:12 AM
I'm glad they removed the Sokovia scene. That was really weird.
But everything else is very interesting. Especially the Banner-Romanova scene.

AoU is really a middle movie. The main plot of thwarting a genocidal robot with a Pinocchio complex is OK, but it's how Whedon calls back moments in past MCU films, and how he deepens the characterisation and the relationships for some of the role players that's the most interesting and noteworthy. He systematically echoes the characters' past struggles to sort of locate this film on the MCU emotional scale, and also to project them into the future (Phase 3). And I think it works very well for the most part.

Unfortunately, the cut we saw in cinemas wasn't paced well at all, and so it was harder to un-pack everything in one single viewing. Some of these extra scenes would've served to correct that.
Kyos
Kyos - 9/13/2015, 5:12 AM
I really think you shouldn't cut scenes in ways that make the very presence of a character completely pointless, like with Selvig.

Also the extended Cap/Hill dialogue... why cut this? :O

Pietro/Wanda in Sokovia was a bit awkward, but would have made their meeting with Ultron slightly less awkward. Only thing that really bothers me (and I know it's how these things often work in movies, but it's still weird to me) - why do they speak English with a Sokovian accent when they are among only Sokovians?

The Bruce/Natasha scene I couldn't handle with the cuts every 10-15 seconds, I'll have to watch that later.
DrKinsolving
DrKinsolving - 9/13/2015, 5:26 AM
I think that Sokovia scene is great, would have totally worked for the transition, leading into revealing Ultron, they may have even really thought Ultron was Stark at first, which adds a lot to the beginning of that scene (where Ultron is revealed)

Quicksilver needs to come back, there is so much more awesome stuff that can be done with him on screen

MrMartyMarvel - 9/13/2015, 6:03 AM
Hello, yes, I'd like to have a word with the little shit who edited the YouTube version to cut to a title card every ten seconds…

MrMartyMarvel
MrMartyMarvel - 9/13/2015, 6:15 AM
Still, some nice little scenes they cut out. The cave scene especially would have been nice to have, I didn't like how his little quest was just several minute long scenes, while also taking him out of most of the movie.
superotherside
superotherside - 9/13/2015, 6:26 AM
They should have cut out all of the Hulk/Black Widow thing and kept everything else.

It would have been better.

I'd have just reshot and made a side story for BW and Hulk.

It's almost painful to watch those scenes.
chriskrispy
chriskrispy - 9/13/2015, 6:41 AM
Wow. Aside from like 2 lines that fell flat I can't figure out why they wouldn't include these in the film. It made the Banner/BW romance make more sense, it gave the twins personality, literally 2 of the biggest flaws in the film. I want an extended cut now.
Killuminatic
Killuminatic - 9/13/2015, 7:03 AM
So, Heimdall was occupied all throughout the film till the end eh? Interesting... he must've needed a piss break or something.

@LEVITIKUZ - The person who compiled these scenes most likely did it to avoid copyright detection, as was pointed out in the comment section of the video by someone.

I'm pretty sure it won't be like this on the actual Blu-ray/DVD release.

Is it just me or when Thor was possessed he sounded just like Alexis Denisofs character from the first Avengers?
ScarletWarlock
ScarletWarlock - 9/13/2015, 8:08 AM
Thor's possession scene was realllllly cool. Seemed like something straight from Angel which made me very happy, oh, and the fact everyone seemed to bitch about Whedon inserting the Wolfram and Hart easter egg, it kind of tells me people don't really know his body of work. I mean, come on, Whedonites would've shit their pants with joy, yet everyone was worshiping Joss before this movie, which sort of implies that they're vastly aware of his body of work but that seems to have been disproved at many times since this film's release.
