Avengers: Doomsday - Steve Rogers & Thor Reunite While Ant-Man Tries To Address 'Cap' In New Extended TV Spot

Following a snippet earlier this week, Marvel Studios has released a new 30-second TV spot Avengers: Doomsday, offering an extended look at Steve & Thor's reunion and Ant-Man trying to address Cap.

Following an early sneak peek on Friday, Marvel Studios has released a full 30-second TV spot for Avengers: Doomsday, featuring brand-new footage from the upcoming December blockbuster.

The main additions include an extended look at the reunion between Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), along with a longer version of Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) struggling to address the right Cap—Steve or Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie). This time, however, U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell) chimes in as well.

Beyond that, it seems the primary focal point of the upcoming marketing campaign will be the three teams—The Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four—uniting to take on a threat far greater than any they've faced before: Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.). While these TV spots are a welcome preview, it shouldn't be too long before we get a new trailer, which will likely be the final trailer before the film opens.

With new content already dropping during Games 1 and 2 of the World Series, it wouldn't be surprising if Marvel has another reveal planned for Games 3 and 4 on Monday and Tuesday. Only time will tell.

Avengers: Doomsday is expected to feature Robert Downey Jr. ("Victor von Doom / Doctor Doom"), Chris Evans ("Steve Rogers"), Chris Hemsworth ("Thor"), Pedro Pascal ("Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic"), Paul Rudd ("Scott Lang / Ant-Man"), Anthony Mackie ("Sam Wilson / Captain America"), Florence Pugh ("Yelena Belova"), Vanessa Kirby ("Sue Storm / Invisible Woman"), Ebon Moss-Bachrach ("Ben Grimm / The Thing"), Wyatt Russell ("John Walker / U.S. Agent"), Channing Tatum ("Remy LeBeau / Gambit"), Simu Liu ("Xu Shang-Chi"), Ian McKellen ("Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto"), Tom Hiddleston ("Loki"), James Marsden ("Scott Summers / Cyclops"), Patrick Stewart ("Charles Xavier / Professor X"), Joseph Quinn ("Johnny Storm / Human Torch"), Sebastian Stan ("Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier"), David Harbour ("Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian"), Letitia Wright ("Shuri / Black Panther"), Lewis Pullman ("Bob Reynolds / Sentry"), Kelsey Grammer ("Hank McCoy / Beast"), Danny Ramirez ("Joaquin Torres / Falcon"), Winston Duke ("M'Baku"), Alan Cumming ("Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler"), Hannah John-Kamen ("Ava Starr / Ghost"), Rebecca Romijn ("Raven Darkhölme / Mystique"), Alex Livinalli ("Attuma"), Mabel Cadena ("Namora"), Tenoch Huerta Mejía ("Namor"), India Rose Hemsworth ("Love"), Kathryn Newton ("Cassie Lang"), Benedict Cumberbatch ("Dr. Stephen Strange / Doctor Strange"), and Hayley Atwell ("Peggy Carter").

The Russo Brothers helmed the blockbuster, with a screenplay from Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. The Russos are also attached as producers alongside Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Jonathan Schwartz, with Louis D'Esposito and Callum McDougall onboard as executive producers.

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18!

Couple things. Im so leery of marvel lately trust stuff but that “let’s go” from steve got me. I know they wanted to phase out the original trinity but my counter is Steve Rogers rules and Chris Evans can play him til hes 90. It’s just different with Cap involved

@PNW23 - Yeah, he needs to come back, even with a different actor. The character is just the heart of the Avengers. He doesn't even need to be leading. You can easily make him commander of SHIELD and his presence can still be felt in the universe. Imagine SHIELD commander Rogers in FFH instead of Fury, since that Skrull thingy they tried lead to nowhere.

@Loohnutick - "You can easily make him commander of SHIELD and his presence can still be felt in the universe."

That was my argument against killing off Tony Stark. Contracts expiring and all that notwithstanding, they could have kept the character's presence in the MCU without Downey having to put in screen time in future films. Stark joked in IM2 about becoming the Secretary of Defense. That would have been perfect --the character would still exist in-universe, but he'd be retired from actual super-heroics.

@PNW23 - Agreed, he’s the heart of the MCU. They will probably give Mackie’s FalCap forced moments in these two film hoping it wins fans over but it won’t. Disney/Marvel ALWAYS triples down if their failures so now way they backtrack so maybe having two “Captain’s America” is the best way to go. Fal/Cap can lead one team and Steve the other with maybe Hawkeye taking lead on the West Coast Avengers

I’m fine with getting new bits of footage but i hope they don’t reveal too much…

Anyway , the bit with Scott & the 3 Caps gave me a chuckle ngl.

Also I love that Doom’s magic blasts have the Kirby Crackle!!.

@TheVisionary25 - I was never a big fan of Kirby‘s art. I was more into realistic artists like Neal Adams, but Kirby could design things like crazy.

@RolandD - yeah , i liked his art for the most part but Kirby shined at creating otherworldly designs.

How are there 2 Caps? If Old Steve created Falcon Cap, how can Young Steve be fighting next to him?!?! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sorta OT:

I just started Vision Quest. It's terribly written and lacks any and all essence of subtle storytelling, nearly every line of dialogue is lazy exposition dumping the plot directly to the audience with absolutely no style or substance, just spoon feeding us the plot as if we are all borderline vegetative imbeciles. Just because the writers successfully used a thesaurus when crafting Ultron's lines doesn't trick me into thinking this script isn't still complete and utter garbage.

That being said, it's still a delight watching Paul and James chew the scenery with delicious pomp. The actress for Friday is insanely annoying to me though. Her overacting made me loath her before the first episode even wrapped.

After 4 episodes, this show is such a waste of resources it's insane. All the money and talent on screen nearly entirely nullified by simply atrocious writing. It's also totally tonally all over the place. It's surprisingly brutal and even a little gorey, very much adult oriented action sequences, yet the show feels like it's dialogue was written for mentally challenged children, or BY mentally challenged children. Also, the comedy in the show is bewilderingly bad. Not a single gag has made me so much as chuckle, which is insane considering James Spader can milk practically anything for a laugh, but not in these 4 episodes so far.

But the least I can say is that it is at the very least entertaining me.

Also, did MARVEL intentionally cast Tommy Maximoff to look just like Grant Gustin?

On topic:

Those first 2 Doom posters are bad ass.

So they basically chopped up this teaser to make that baseball teaser from the other article. Only like a few seconds of new shots in this that weren't in the baseball one.

All these Doomsday trailers aren't really doing anything for me, but I'm still going to be there day one for old times sake. Kinda feels like going to a high school reunion. You are kinda looking forward to seeing everyone again, but you aren't entirely positive or not if you even really want to or need to attend.

@TheAmericanHero - lolz, i like that analogy and i am in the same boat.

And it is funny that even that scene dont have Evans and Hemsworth together to shoot it. The whole film will be a big shoot and paste collage

It's just hard to get excited when it's ALMOST the thing but not the thing.

It's like that last shot in Clayface.

Seeing all the heroes in the baxter building should be peak. But it looks so boring. All the posters with Cap in his civvies being a second Thor and FalCap and Shang Chi... A simple adjustment of Steve in the Cap costume and no hammer would make it so much more exciting. Red Guardian and the other Thunderbolts are not selling this movie at all.

Then there's the return of the OG Fox-Men but... no Jean, Storm, Rogue or Iceman. Instead [frick]ing Mystique's on the team which was the one thing everybody hated about the FoX-Men reboot universe.

It's Fantastic Four meets ALMOST Avengers and ALMOST X-Men and ALMOST Black Panther etc and the rest of the MCU is strangely absent from it's finale. BND blew up the world and there's no Spidey or Jean to be seen. Just what are we doing here?
TheAmericanHero
TheAmericanHero - 10/25/2026, 5:25 AM
@UltronIO - I'm fairly certain that the real Kevin Feige died several years ago and what we see now days is simply AI. No living, breathing, sentient being with human emotions and a decent working brain would or could ever think the "creative directions" the MCU have taken for the past decade+ are good decisions. Nope, only AI could concoct all this nonsense.

@centaur - Thanos was a payoff to an excellent build up.

Doom is a hope for an excellent payoff for good/sub-par hype.
