Avengers Endgame: Encore has started arriving in theaters internationally, which means the new scenes added to the movie have leaked online. This was inevitable, and while Disney will act fast to remove any leaks, they're quickly flooding social media.
There's still no word on the rumoured Avengers: Doomsday trailer expected to play before the movie on IMAX screens. For now, this new ending and three post-credits scenes are more than enough to build excitement for the first half of the Multiverse Saga finale this December.
It's worth pointing out that the best way to watch this new Avengers: Endgame footage will be on the biggest screen possible this weekend.
Still, like the four Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailers, Marvel Studios must have realised that fans would rush to share these on social media. In fact, it's become the norm for moviegoers—and this isn't necessarily a good thing—to share full-blown scenes from a new release over an opening weekend.
Some studios allow those to boost interest in a new blockbuster, and it does often pay off. Other times, it's an excuse for people to see the best bits online for free without ever buying a ticket. In the case of Avengers Endgame: Encore, it's expected to break box office records this weekend as the biggest re-release ever.
"It’s an opportunity to create a bridge from Endgame to Doomsday in a very unique way, and because the movie was so successful, we have an opportunity to re-release it," filmmaker Joe Russo previously explained. "You don’t always get the chance to re-release because it costs money, so the fact that we can enhance the story of Doomsday by bridging it to Endgame and these characters that we worked with for years that we love so much, and continue their story: It’s a really unique opportunity."
He went on to describe the Avengers: Endgame re-release as a "critical companion story" and a "setup for what you’re gonna watch in December when you see Avengers: Doomsday."

Avengers Endgame: Encore arrives in theaters on September 25.
