Joss Whedon always kills off characters...and who better to kill than a character who's not in the comics

On spoilers, I don't really care if I see them or not (although I guess I would rather see them). Spoiler alert! I read the Lord of the Rings before I saw the movies and they didn't ruin the movie for me. I read the Hobbit and it won't ruin the movie for me. Heck, I already knew that Bruce Banner became the Hulk before the Hulk movies. I read the Wizard of Oz before I saw the movie and then I saw the movie every year for like 20 years in a row and the spoilers never seemed to ruin the movie. What I am trying to say is that a truly good movie is not spoiled by spoilers and when books and well known characters are adapted to movies the spoilers aren't that spoilerific.

On Thanos, not having seen the movie I can only speculate based on spoilers. At the end of Thor, Thanos probably saved Loki and gave him the Mind Gem and an army to supposedly get him the Tesseract. Odin, seeing the trouble Loki was causing made a deal with Thanos, send Thor to Earth and then after Thor has Loki send them to Asgard and Odin would give Thanos the Soul Gem. Odin knows that a Mind Gem owning Thanos is no more dangerous than just being Thanos and would reason that he would still posses the other gems while a Loki with control of Earth and having the Cosmic Cube would be at least as big a problem as Thanos.

Lots of people are assuming that Thanos will be the threat in Avengers 2. I am not convinced. I believe that Thanos will be the threat in Avengers 3. Thanos will probably be used in Thor 2 in some manner and may make appearances in other Marvel movies. Ultron seems a much more likely threat in Avengers 2. Both Iron Man 3 and Cap 2 can be used to easily set up Ultron.

I knew as soon as they said Joss Whedon, some beloved character would be eliminated. He love to kill characters. I am not surprised in the least, because like a lot of people who visit these sites I've read the comics I know all the characters like friends. so for me it's all about seeing the story play out in living color:) I can't wait to see THANOS, if they show him,LOL!!!!!!! I kinda already guessed ever since they showed the INFINITY GAUNLET at SDCC and the THOR movie, very briefly, that the Major Character the web has been hinting at being a surprise edition would be THANOS. This film is gonna be so full of epic satisfaction a couple of major spoilers ain't gonna ruin nuthin:)

At this point I'm happy with seeing the culmination of the last five years of Marvel movies. I'll let Avengers sink in before I start worrying about Avengers 2. This entire affair seemed like an impossibility at the outset, but now here we are. Even more impossible is that every movie leading to this was also pretty damn good; not perfect, but good. I'll even give props to Incredible Hulk. The promise of Thanos is just more decoration on an already well frosted cake. At the same time it's kind of a middle finger to DC/Warner if they ever decide to trot out Darkseid. Cause while we the comic fans know that Darkseid came first, the movie going public will think it's the other way around (Mind you, I still want to see Supes take on Darkseid on the big screen).

surely before ultron and the vision appear Ant-man has to be introduced, dosent he create them?

mstaley3000
mstaley3000 - 4/23/2012, 2:02 PM
@DevilHulk666 - Hank Pym creates Ultron and Ultron creates Vision. Hank Pym doesn't have to be Ant-Man. Ant-Man was also a guy named Scott Lang who used Pym's Ant-Man tech. I would actually prefer that the Pym's not become Ant-Man/Giant Man/Yellowjacket and the Wasp. There is no real compelling reason for Hank to become a superhero when he is a top scientist and no good reason for him to experiment on his wife and turn her into the Wasp. He can still create Ultron and that story can go from there and can be a part of Iron Man 3 and Cap 2 with Pym's introduction as a mild plot point.
