Avengers: Infinity War may have "Avengers" in the title but it's also set to feature the Guardians of the Galaxy, a team we were first introduced to back in 2014. Based on what we've seen from the movie so far, Star-Lord, Drax, and Mantis will be paired up with Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange, while Rocket and Groot are going to head off with Thor (there's still no word on Gamora's whereabouts).

Chris Pratt was asked if Star-Lord is basically an Avenger now but he remains loyal to the Guardians. "Peter's always going to be a Guardian. I'll let the fan decide that. I'm not sure what the right answer to that is, in case I give away too much. But it was important to us, going into this, that the Guardians have a different style. Avengers has its own tone but in a way that allows the Guardians to remain the Guardians, in terms of what they bring and what people will expect to see from them."

Despite the actor's comments here, it definitely sounds like Star-Lord will be aligned with Earth's Mightiest Heroes which is sure to shake up his dynamic with the rest of his team moving forward.

As for how the Guardians will be introduced in Avengers: Infinity War, it sounds like it's going to be something extremely memorable for fans of the group of A-Holes. "I won't say where we are, but the first frame of seeing us, people will be on their feet. I'm not just saying that because of how great we are, although we are great, and I guess I am pretty cocky, but the way it's executed really works."

What do you guys think the future holds in store for Star-Lord? Let us know your thoughts below.

Look, this is awesome and all...but when are we getting the Taika Waititi interview to discuss Korg and how important he is. I'm putting money on him being the secret weapon in this fight and defeating Thanos.

and yes, I just rewatched Thor 3 for the fifth time and Korg is the funniest side character in the MCU to me. I crack up everytime he pops up.

@RocknRolla - About what? Them interacting? That would make no sense at all, but would be hilarious.

Or that Korg was funny as hell? To me he was, and Taiki's humor and accent made it so.

@Menks123 - I have a terrible feeling that Korg will die when Thanos invades the Asgardian ship. It would be awesome if he didn't and became one of the Guardians!

@bcom - That would be awesome loool. Or just a nice walk into the sunset on another planet, with his best friend Miek.

I will be genuinely bummed if he is killed though.

@Menks123 - Luis would call Throg, Pebbles. Because you know...The Rock is taken. I can hear him say it in my head! It would be a funny interaction!

@Lostcause - I can too lmao. It's not only that Korg was written so well, it was Taiki's mono toned delivery and accent that just kills me everytime. I'd kill for a Marvel One Shot of him and his buddy Miek.

He's not strictly a member of the Avengers team, but i think Avengers can also mean a concept for any hero that want to protect the world or the universe from a common enemy.

I think at this point the Guardians are as important in the universe as the Avengers really if not more. The Guardians saved the Galaxy twice, the Avengers really only saved earth twice and then kinda [frick]ed everything up by fighting each other. Ignore any team should want to join another one it should be the Avengers joining the Guardians

I wonder if Gunn had any input in the dialogue for the Guardians because that interaction between him and Stark was perfection.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - In an earlier article the Russo’s talked about getting with previous directors to keep the tone inline. They mentioned Doctor Strange director specifically but I’m pretty sure they referenced James Gunn as well.

I'm really interested to see how the Russos handle the guardians. I ussaly don't have a problem with the humor in the MCU but I do think James Gunn over did it in some scenes in the first two guardian films. I think the comedy moments were really well done in winter soldier and civil war and never distracted from the story being told.
