AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Hits Tracking With Early Estimates Pointing Towards A $200M+ Opening

Avengers: Infinity War arrived on tracking today, and, perhaps not too surprisingly, the Marvel epic looks set for a whopping $200 million plus opening when it hits theaters everywhere on April 27...

At this stage, it'd really only be news if a Marvel Studios movie didn't have an impressive opening weekend, and considering Avengers: Infinity War is by far the biggest MCU entry to date, it was always a safe bet that it would enjoy a mighty box office bow.

Deadline is now reporting that the Russo Brothers-directed superhero epic has hit tracking, and early estimates indicate that it could rake in over $200 million during the highly anticipated April 27-29 opening weekend.

It is worth noting that this is an industry projection, so we can probably expect Disney's to be a little more conservative.

Tell us, so you think Infinity War will exceed expectations, or do you believe there's a chance it won't perform as well as many assume it will? Drop us a comment and let us know.

Probably best to have it kept at this number for now, so it's actual numbers in three weeks will be record breaking.

Is there a Peter Rabbit type movie coming out that weekend that could win the box office then? Should we call in our resident "expert"??

Doesn't pre sale factor into opening weekend somehow? Are there numbers for presale yet? I would assume most presale tickets are for opening weekend. If that's the case then shouldn't they already know? Is that how box office tracking works? So many questions. My guess is it's gonna come in at a whopping 267 million for opening weekend.

@xHollywoodx - Pre-sale definitely do, but it's important to note that more and more people buy their tickets online than ever before, so that's measured on a curve. But more than 50% of people won't buy their tickets until they get to the movie theater, or at least day/week of. I still haven't bought mine because Imax 3D screenings aren't available for reservations yet. And i'll be seeing this movie 3x opening weekend

@xHollywoodx - buying tickets online for my local cinema in the UK is cheaper than buying them at the counter. I've personally taken away £8 from it's opening weekend, i'm sorry Marvel.

@Forthas - After the coming weekend Black Panther's domestic run will likely have passed Justice League's worldwide run.
