AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR: Take A Closer Look At The Iron Spider's Suit And Pincers With More Hot Toys Images
We've already been treated to a glimpse of this spectacular action figure but now an additional eighteen images have been revealed showing where the pincers come from, Spidey's new webshooters, and more.
Avengers: Infinity War is rapidly approaching and with Marvel keeping the movie such a secret, it's easy to see why fans are clamouring for any new piece of intel they can get. That includes taking a close look at action figures and promo art but there's no one better than Hot Toys when it comes to revealing detailed toys which tell us much more what to expect from certain heroes and villains in the film.
Designed by Tony Stark, the impressive brand new futuristic Iron Spider Suit has equipped with the latest amazing high-tech weapons. Expertly crafted based on the stylish appearance of Iron Spider with the most up-to-date details in the movie, the collectable figure features three interchangeable heads including a newly developed interchangeable masked head with a very cool LED light-up function.
There's also a masked head sculpt with four pairs of interchangeable eyepieces to create numerous combinations of Spider-Man’s expressions and a newly painted interchangeable head sculpt featuring remarkable likeness of Tom Holland, a newly developed specialized body, a skillfully tailored metallic red and dark blue-colored Iron Spider suit with gold-colored trims perfectly capturing all the tiniest details, two pairs of articulated Iron Spider pincers with stylish gold-colored painting, a variety of spider-web shooting effect parts and a movie-themed dynamic Avengers: Infinity War figure stand.
We've already seen a handful of Iron Spider images but Hot Toys has now unveiled a full gallery which reveals where those pincers come from, how Peter Parker's new webshooters will work, and various mask designs we haven't seen before. Many fans have been theorising that the circular device on Spider-Man's hand is for shooting repulsor rays and while that's entirely feasible, it's far more like part of his web-shooter based on this shot.
In the comic books, these extra arms were capable of shooting blasts of energy but the big screen version seems to have what looks like blades used to attack enemies and climb over obstacles.
A lot of fans recoiled at the idea of Peter Parker having a technologically advanced suit in Spider-Man: Homecoming so they probably won't be best pleased if the Iron Spider makes it into the sequel.
However, there's no denying that this costume would shake Spider-Man's big screen adventures up in some interesting ways and those extra arms should make fight scenes even more dynamic.
The wall-crawler rocking a more advanced suit would put his Aunt May's mind at ease because she's bound to have some thoughts on her nephew being a superhero after Spider-Man: Homecoming!
It's interesting that Marvel Studios has decided to keep these extra arms out of the trailers and various marketing materials because we've now seen them on a long list of action figures for the movie.
One of the most popular - and hard to believe - fan theories for this movie is that Spider-Man will be killed by Thanos, leading Iron Man to use the Time Stone to go back in time and set things right.
Then again, seeing as Avengers 4 will likely mark Robert Downey Jr.'s final appearance as Tony Stark, it wouldn't be all that surprising for Marvel to make the movie all about Iron Man's last adventure.
Spider-Man's future is similarly uncertain as we don't know if he's confirmed for Avengers 4. It's also thought that Marvel's deal with Sony doesn't stretch beyond Spider-Man: Homecoming 2.
Sony could easily keep Tom Holland around if they stop working with Marvel and references to the MCU could be ditched. However, the thought of Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach returning isn't pleasant.
Just imagine the convoluted storylines they'd come up with if they were return; bear in mind that Sony turned to Marvel Studios for help after what Arad and Tolmach did to the franchise with TASM.
With any luck, Sony will see sense and keep this deal with Marvel Studios going as they definitely benefit in the long run. After all, interest in the wall-crawler has honestly never been higher.
What would be cool to see in the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel is Peter going back to basics with a comic book accurate suit with no frills. However, that would also handicap the character in many ways.
After all, those new gadgets really helped differentiate this Spider-Man from what came before and it means we get to see things - like these extra arms - which we otherwise wouldn't have been able to.
You wouldn't think that gold would work on Spider-Man's suit but it really does and everything from those gauntlets to the shoulder pads and extra arms look surprisingly cool with red and blue.
Iron Man has upgraded his armour in Avengers: Infinity War to allow him to fly into outer space. It seems he had something similar in mind for Peter as it looks like those arms will come in very handy!
One of the coolest things Marvel brought to Spider-Man is finding a way to make his eyes move. Despite the Iron Spider upgrade, that's something which will clearly still be used with this costume.
As suspected, those extra arms are indeed housed within the spider on Peter's back. This is a very cool figure as Hot Toys is offering fans plenty of different ways to customise its appearance.
