AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR: Thor's Hot Toys Action Figure Reveals Stormbreaker, A Cape, And Rocket And Groot

Thanks to this Hot Toys action figure, we now know that Thor will have two very different looks in Avengers: Infinity War, while it also provides a closer look at his new cape and the Stormbreaker weapon!

Avengers: Infinity War is a movie which will inevitably leave a lot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's heroes changed forever, regardless of whether that's in terms of appearance or where they'll be once this tale ends. In the case of Thor, he's clearly going to be going through some major alterations, something which is evident from this amazing new action figure showing off the God of Thunder.

Thor is getting a new costume, a new weapon, and new allies in the form of Rocket and Groot. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that the hero is also going to have a very cool looking red and black cape!

The Thor collectible figure features a newly developed head sculpt with specially applied luminous reflective effect on the eye that accentuates Thor using his thunder power, a newly developed muscular body with two pairs of interchangeable arms, intricately detailed body armor with LED light up circle plates and lightning effect accessories, a detachable red-colored cape, detail recreation of Thor’s new weapon Stormbreaker, and a specially designed figure stand with the movie's logo.

What an electrifying picture to start with (sorry). At the end of Thor: Ragnarok, the God of Thunder was more powerful than ever before and this awesome shot shows him unleashing the Odin Force.

There it is! We've seen the Strombreaker in various forms but this action figure finally provides a detailed look at the amazing weapon and its handle which is reportedly made from Groot wood.

Joining Thor are Rocket and the adolescent verison of Groot. Those two will presumably be released as a double pack and the latter's rifle looks very cool. Why is he using that instead of his powers?

The King is back! In The Avengers, Thor called down lightning and his arms were subsequently covered in armour and it looks like that will also be the case in this movie (oh, and his cape is back too).

There's been a lot of speculation that Thor will somehow regain his eye in this movie but that would actually be something of a shame, especially as it undoes one of Thor: Ragnarok's biggest shocks.

What a badass cape! Red on the outside and black on the inside, it's fair to say that this might be Thor's best look yet and when you throw in the lightning effects, he's clearly ready for action.

When Thor does get this fancy new armour and cape, will his eye return at the same time? That seems the most likely option unless Rocket manages to make him one (or Groot still has it fron Vol. 2).

This is the suit Thor was decked out in right at the end of Thor: Ragnarok when he and Loki were discussing returning to Earth before being confronted by Thanos' massive spaceship, Sanctuary II.

Is it a coincidence that they crossed paths with the Mad Titan on the way home or did Loki summon him there to try and strike a bargain with the Tesseract? That's something we'll find out in April.

Whatever the answer may be, we know that Thor winds up floating through outer space before being discovered by the Guardians of the Galaxy and teaming up with new allies Rocket and Groot.

The Stormbreaker is a badass looking weapon and can clearly be used as both an axe and a hammer. That will liven up the God of Thunder's fighting style in a big way when he goes to war with Thanos.

Rocket has wielded a lot of big guns in the past but this may be his largest weapon yet. He's clearly hoping to do serious damage to Thanos as is Groot going by his stern looking expression.

Thor's short hair is clearly going to be a permanent change for the foreseeable future and it's a result of Chris Hemsworth becoming exasperated with wearing an uncomfortable wig during filming.

What will Thor be getting up to in Avengers: Infinity War? Well, we know he's found by the Guardians after being taken out by Thanos and then heads off on a mission with Rocket and Groot.

From there, they'll be travelling to Nidavellir, the home of the dwarves. That's where Mjolnir was forged and where the God of Thunder will be looking for a new weapon to help take on Thanos.

What comes next isn't clear but he'll presumably join up with The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy to do battle with Thanos in the final act, something which we know literally nothing about!

Mjolnir was iconic but Stormbreaker? Now that's what you call a badass weapon! The handle being made of Groot wood is a nice touch and gives the sentient tree an aimportant part to play here.

How powerful is Groot wood, though, and will the youngster have to sacrifice himself to provide the handle? That seems doubtful but it's hard to escape the feeling that this will be a very big moment.

The likeness to Chris Hemsworth here is staggering and Hot Toys has clearly outdone itself with this effort. Simply put, this is going to look downright awesome on the shelf of any toy collector!

@ScarletWarlock - Who said anything about a trailer? Fanboys made an assumption and ran with it.

@azureus - I said likely to debut. No one said it WASN'T an assumption.

@ScarletWarlock - I know. But its UNLIKELY to debut. There was a vague tweet that probably referred to the release date change and everyone freaks out that a trailer is coming.

@azureus - The third trailer also gets released about 2 months out, so around March time for May releases, but it just go pushed a week earlier and we're now on the 2nd of March, there's a fairly good chance that it debuts soon if not today, so it's just an educated guess. Plus they had the debut announcement just yesterday, so it's possible they might want to let everyone know the new release date at the end of a new trailer.

@ScarletWarlock - All just assumptions. It is NOT debuting today. In the next few weeks for sure.

@azureus - I mean, the third Avengers 2 trailer was released on March 4th, and that was a May release. Infinity War is now releasing in April and it's now March 2nd. It's not out of the question yet, so I wouldn't be stating otherwise as a fact.

@ScarletWarlock - Maybe theyll release the full movie on Netflix tonight too. They did it for Cloverfield so you cant prove they wont do it with Infinity War too.
