RUMOR: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Will See Steve Rogers Drop The Captain America Mantle & Suit-Up As Nomad

We already knew we'd be seeing a very different Steve Rogers in Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War, but a new rumor suggests that the conflicted hero will be ditching the mantle of Captain America altogether.

A disillusioned Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) seemingly dropped the Captain America mantle along with his signature shield at the end of Civil War, but most of us assumed he'd be suiting-up as the Sentinel of Liberty again for Avengers: Infinity War.

Well, though he probably will be donning a costume again, it may not be the classic red, white 'n blue duds we're used to seeing him in.

According to MCU Exchange, Rogers will indeed utilize a superhero identity when he joins his former teammates in their battle against Thanos and his forces, but it'll be as Nomad, not Captain America. Apparently, the costume won't be exactly like the caped blue and yellow uniform from the comics, but it will pay homage to it.

Fans have actually been speculating about the possibility of Cap becoming Nomad since Civil War, so this wouldn't exactly be a major shock - that said, until we hear or see something official on the matter it should be taken with the usual pinch of salt.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see Steve Rogers as Nomad, or should be return as Captain America for Avengers: Infinity War? Sound off below.

Really doubt it, nothing better than Steve taking the mantle of Captain America one last time

@ComicBookPsycho - My guess is, if this is true, he'll also don the classic Cap suit by the end anyway.. or at least in the next movie (if he survives).

@RorMachine - That's probably what it will be. He'll be Nomad throughout Infinity War up until he makes up with Tony and gets his shield back. Then, he'll assume command as one of the main leaders of the Avengers in the next one.

@ComicBookPsycho - Yea people in the comment section need to chill out. He'll be Nomad for awhile and then lead the Avengers into the final battle against Thanos as Captain America.

@ComicBookPsycho - I want to see classic Cap leading the charge against Thanos not some 90's sales boosting gimmick!

@ComicBookPsycho - This would at least clean up the Homecoming mention of Tony making a new shield for Cap.

Well, that would leave the Cap suit empty for someone else to use when Evans walks.

@AlternateNo4 - Marvel originally wanted him for 9 movies but he signed on for 6. I think they still plan on doing the 9 movie storyline with him but choose to tease the audience leaving his demise a cliffhanger.
