The first trailer for
Marvel's Avengers, titled
A-Day showcased five playable characters - Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, and Hulk - with Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel later confirmed to be the sixth. Beyond those six, no characters have been confirmed, but the combination of
Captain Marvel's box office success and the fact that Khan is in the game has fans believing she'll be in the game as well given their connection in the comics. Thanks to some upcoming LEGO sets, fans are beginning to believe there might be at least two more Avengers available in the game.
The new lego sets which are titled Avengers Speed Bike Attack and Avengers Truck Takedown and pictured below feature both Black Panther and Hawkeye going up against A.I.M. (Advance Idea Mechanics) - the very same villainous group thatour heroes will face in the upcoming
Marvel's Avengers. Given the timing factor of these LEGO set releases, its fairly likely that these are being launched in order to hype up the game. With
Black Widow's release not even two weeks prior, its obvious these sets aren't in regards to the Cinematic Universe, and while they
could just be for fun - its likely that there is a reasoning for these specific characters being used.
Black Panther saw incredible success in theaters and the character has a strong following (Wakanda forever!) so his inclusion in the game isn't shocking, while Hawkeye makes sense as well due to the fact that he is the only character of the main six in the MCU that hasn't been confirmed for this game yet, and the team clearly takes inspiration from that universe.
Check out both of the new LEGO sets in the images below and you'll see that Thor comes with the Black Panther set while Captain America comes with Hawkeye - both of which are playable characters in
Marvel's Avengers and the similarities between Captain America's game costume and his lego one have already been drawn by fans. Take a look at the sets for yourself.
Be sure to take this speculation with a grain of salt as none of this serves as definite confirmation but it is definitely a reasonable theory after looking at all of the evidence. But let us know what you think! Are these characters going to be a part of
Marvel's Avengers or is this just another example of people reading too far into things? Let us know your thoughts in the comments and check out the trailer for
Marvel's Avengers below!
Marvel’s Avengers begins at A-Day, where Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor are unveiling a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco — including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. The celebration turns deadly when a catastrophic accident results in massive devastation. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, with all Super Heroes outlawed and the world in peril, the only hope is to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Marvel's Avengers will be released on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on May 15, 2020.
