While Disney must be reeling after Solo: A Star Wars Story's dismal debut at the worldwide box office, they must be feeling a whole lot better about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Infinity War has made an estimated $32.5 million in 36 territories over the weekend and combined with $16.5 million from North America (not including Memorial Day), it managed to score a solid $49 million total.
The epic superhero ensemble should earn an additional $3.5 million tomorrow in the states and it's already managed to pass $1.9 billion at the worldwide box office during its fifth weekend of release.
To be specific, the Marvel movie has earned $1,904,688,638, so $2 billion is pretty much guaranteed at this point. That's an incredible feat and while Avengers: Infinity War is already the biggest superhero movie in history, joining that elite club puts it on a whole other level and ensures it's unlikely to be beaten for a very long time (well, until Avengers 4 is released...that has the potential to be bigger).
