RUMOR: Will AGENT CARTER Star Hayley Atwell Return For AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR & AVENGERS 4?
With Avengers 4 expected to be the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it, could Marvel Studios be planning an epic reunion of sorts with the return of another fan-favorite? Come take a look!
While Agent Peggy Carter sadly passed away last year, at the age of 95, in Captain America: Civil War, the rumor mill has been buzzing pretty loudly this past week and it's starting to sound more and more like the fan-favorite hero may be in line for a resurrection of sorts in either next year's Avengers: Infinity War and/or its currently filming sequel, the still-untitled Avengers 4.
The buzz originates from a recent casting call for "Mary Lou" - the working title for Avengers: Infinity War & Avengers 4 - that was seeking actresses to play secretaries and female engineers in the 1960s, which would seemingly suggest that the Russo Brothers are gearing up to film a flashback sequence of some sort in a time period when Peggy Carter was very much alive. Also, with the Time Gem expected to come into play, could this be our first indicator that the Avengers will indeed travel back in time?
This wouldn't be the first time a casting call has accidentally spoiled a potentially important plot point as previous posts have revealed to fans that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) were likely to appear at one point or another in the upcoming 2019 sequel.
To add more fuel to the fire, actress Hayley Atwell did recently pay a visit to Marvel HQ to meet with producer Louis D'Esposito and while the terms of their private meeting weren't disclosed, they did take the time to snap a photo in front of a Captain America mural. Additionally, Atwell posted a new photo on her personal Instagram yesterday, revealing herself wearing curlers and mo-cap dots on her face - the same mo-cap dots that have previously been used in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Ant-Man to age the actress up. There is a chance that the new look could be for another Disney-backed project, Christopher Robin, but it's unclear why she would require mo-cap dots for that live-action production. Recent set photos have also shown her sporting a different look.
So, what do you guys think? Is Agent Peggy Carter back? Sound off with your thoughts below!
As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
