Wow! Taylor Kitsch just can't seem to catch a break. You know 6 or 7 years ago "Battleship" would have easily been the #1 movie at the box office. I saw "Battleship", and while it's nothing to write home about it did seem to check off all the appropriate boxes that are required of a summer blockbuster. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be enough anymore. The appetite of the masses has reached insatiable levels. At least this means we can look forward to more studio safe, overwhelming comic book movies.
"Dictator" is performing on the softer side domestically, but easily pulls ahead of "What to Expect When You're Expecting"; "Avengers" continues to dominate and will win weekend with $50 million or more.
Universal and Hasbro Entertainment's big-budget Battleship barely made it out of port at the Friday box office, with early estimates showing the action pic grossing a disappointing $9.5 million.
