DISCLAIMER: Here lately I've become damn good at half-assed articles, so I think I'll make them my specialty. Remember, this is purely speculation--have fun with it!
In
Agents of SHIELD, we have what is known as the Diviner, which contains Terrigen Crystals. AKA the Obelisk, this device unleashed Skye and Raina's
Inhuman abilities.
Seeing how
Agents of SHIELD has been dealing with the terrorist group Hydra in every episode so far, I foresee them giving Hydra a rest for a number of episodes. The next few episodes will deal with Skye's newly found "Quake" powers, Ward and Agent 33 on the run, maybe Deathlok, and definitely other Inhumans. Then, just in time for the
Avengers: Age of Ultron tie-in, they will be alerted of something dangerous going on in Europe's Hydra division, which we know is led by Baron von Strucker.
Director Coulson will notify
Maria Hill, who will in turn notify the Avengers.

In the post-credits scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we get our first look at Baron von Strucker, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch. Some doctor is talking about SHIELD's secrets being released by Black Widow, and he's like "Dude, if they find out we work for Hydra--" and Strucker interrupts, saying "Hydra, SHIELD. Two sides of a coin that's no longer currency." While in the comics, Strucker founded Hydra, he seems rather dismissive in his introductory scene. Why is that? Well, I think it's because he's a lot like John Garret. He sees Hydra for personal gain, not because he's 100% loyal.
It is my theory that Baron von Strucker has already long figured out how to use the Diviner, and has used it and Loki's scepter to bring out the Maximoff Twins' unique Inhuman abilities. Why he'd use the Scepter is anyone's guess, but you gotta realize that it's used to "take your brain and play," as it was used on Hawkeye in the first Avengers movie. He did not report this development to the American division because, well, he didn't care to. He's using these developments for his own gain.
Enter Scarlet Witch.

It's been revealed via a leaked
Age of Ultron scene that Wanda Maximoff gives everyone on the team a vision. This has quite an effect on Iron Man--to quote Cap, "I don't know what she showed
you. I just know it made you do something stupid." Stark doesn't exactly deny he did anything stupid.
Could it be the Hulk vs Iron Man fight?
I've posted a previous theory saying that Ultron reveals to the team that Stark had a hand in creating the Hulk, and when Banner finds this out, he loses it. I still find that to be a more likely theory, but with Cap saying "it made you do something stupid" I wanna go ahead and add some more the mix, just for the hell of it.
Wanda's powers show Stark a vision of the future, with the Avengers scattered around him, defeated. Many people thought this might have had something to do with
Thanos, but I think there will be enough
Infinity War foreshadowing at the end of the movie. Ladies and gents, I think Stark will see none other than
The Incredible Hulk standing above these people.
Stark, being the compulsive, if somewhat ignorant character he is, immediatley attempts to prevent this future that he doesn't even know is set.
Meanwhile, Bruce Banner gets a vision of Stark interfering with the experiment that created the Other Guy. Seeing that it was actually Stark's secret involvement that created the Hulk, and that Stark lied and kept it from him all this time, the Hulk is unleashed, and the two fight.
Shit goes down. Ultron is "defeated." Hulk leaves Earth and we don't see him until
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 or
Infinity War.
Oh yeah might as well at this in here--maybe all that's bullshit, and Ultron is controlling Stark via the Scepter. In the first
Avengers, Loki tries to control Stark, but he can't because of his arc reactor. The arc reactor got taken out in
Iron Man 3, and it just makes too much Joss Whedonic sense for there to not be something going on there. Maybe Thor discovers this, and that's why he chokes him?
We know there's a scene involving
Heimdall and
Loki, and the post-credits scene has been rumored to lead-in to
Thor: Ragnarok. Is Thor's vision a preview of Ragnarok? Does he see Loki alive? No, I think they'll save that for the third Thor. But let's say it is Ragnarok, because hey, that makes lots of sense. It's been said that the last page of the
Age of Ultron script left the cast members in awe.
I think that, like the vision scenes, it will be going back and forth between the different characters, namely Iron Man, Captain America and Loki.
Captain America: Civil War will be kickstarted here. But, there was a little rumor going around that I believe nailbiter reported, that Loki still posing as Odin will wage war on Midgard. Who the [frick] knows why, but it'd be interesting to see them all talking about war--albeit two different wars. These two wars will be felt in
Civil War and
Ragnarok, but will merge in
Avengers: Infinity War Part One.
If my calculations are correct, there will still be 3 or 4
Agents of SHIELD episodes following the release of
Age of Ultron. This is where
Hawkeye will make his cameo appearance if not in one of the remaining episodes all of them. Him and
Mockingbird might have some romance or banter, and I'm sure
Lance Hunter will be oh so jealous. They'll probably take down the final head of Hydra or some shit, I don't know. Since the only people that know there's a
real Mandarin are the arguably small amount of audience members who watched
All Hail The King, I wouldn't doubt if he might be the actual villain of the season, pulling all the Hydra strings. But hey, who knows.
Meanwhile, Ultron finds himself in space. Did he shoot himself there? Did
Thanos get ahold of his consciousness? Lol, idk. But he oughta be the main villain of
Guardians of the Galaxy 2, perhaps even possessing knowledge of who Peter Quill's dad is. I think that would be very fun to see and would be a next logical step in the franchise if they went the whole
Annihilation: Conquest route, albeit handling it better than the comic did.
So this Tweet from a night before I got drunk one time pretty much confirms that we'll see
Speedball on
Agents of SHIELD soon, probably played by Fran Kranz. In the comics, Speedball was a member of the New Warriors who foolishly started a fight with some supervillains, and then this bad guy
Nitro went BOOM and killed hundreds of people. This is what led to the Superhuman Registration Act.
I think we'll see this happen on
Agents of SHIELD. I don't want to see the New Warriors, but hell, we've got Quake, Mockingbird and Dethlok on the show, with Speedball imminent. Maybe AOS will see their own group of superheroes. Anyway, Speedball acts on his own, and fights the supervillain Nitro. Nitro explodes and kills hundreds of people, just like the books, and the people and the government's demand that superheroes answer to someone is raised.
Also, Nitro shares a last name with SHIELD agent Lance Hunter, so it'd be cool to see some kind of brother/cousin dynamic there amidst all the other tension.
The Civil War is started over four reasons:
-
Tony Stark let loose Ultron on the world. Though he had good intentions, he told no one of it. The government had no say in the matter, and because of that he must answer for his actions. He sees Ultron as his mistake, and by preventing others from making the same type of mistakes he is beginning to make up for it.
-
Of course, a Superhuman Registration Act where every superhuman ever must be trained and used by the government is going to be highly controversial. It will be the Speedball vs Nitro incident that will finally convince them that it must be done.
-
Rise of Inhuman population, perhaps?
-
Most importantly, Bucky. Somehow Tony Stark finds out that Bucky killed his father, and wants to see the Winter Soldier brought to justice. Steve Rogers, however, knows that Bucky was brainwashed and is in fact innocent. However, the public and Stark only see Bucky as superhuman that acted in murderous ways. I'm sure they'll find a more clever way to tie it all together, but besides any kind of Black Panther or Spider-Man cameo, Bucky will still be at this film's heart.
Actor Chris Evans has said he'd like to show that Captain America isn't perfect; that he'd like to see Steve Rogers make a mistake. I think the mistake here will be the Civil War, that though Tony Stark was faulty in his actions as well.. he was right. In essence, Rogers will learn this lesson by the end of the movie.
Does Captain America die here? Does Iron Man? Ah hell, CBM, we don't know nothing. However, while the main fight is going on here, the end of it will be played out in the next
Avengers film.
I think the Civil War will still be going in
Avengers: Infinity War for a couple reasons. For one, while talks have seemingly broken down, they were going to do a Spider-Man solo film taking place after
Captain America: Civil War, where superheroes are still split into two factions. This is because there's still some disagreements over the Superhuman Registration Act. Not only that, but Joss Whedon wants the audience members to watch the
Avengers movies without having to watch any of the others. If a whole new roster of Avengers appear at the end of AOU to fight the Civil War, it wouldn't make much sense to have that ENTIRE event take place outside the realm of the
Avengers series.
So--by the time Part One rolls around, the Civil War is finishing. Perhaps Black Panther unifies the heroes, seeking an end to the pointless blooshed. While the heroes are still dealing with that on Earth, Thanos is up in the skies, breaking into every facility that houses an Infinity Stone and taking it for himself, finally tired of his own agents failing him. It'd be epic as hell to see him completely wreck Asgard after they'd just survived
Surtur. The bridge between these two happenings is Loki. It's hard to say what Loki will do since we don't know what will happen in
Thor: Ragnarok, but I don't think Marvel would call it an Infinity War if it wasn't a huge ass Infinity War. Part One ends with Thanos coming to Earth, all of the stones collected in his Infinity Gauntlet.
Um, Part Two, they fight. Captain America (if he'd died, they'll bring him back to life) lifts Mjolnir officially, having learned his lesson in during Civil War and finally becoming worthy. If
Ant-Man 2 gets made,
Hope Van Dyne turns into villaness
Red Queen. And that's pretty much all I got. I know this is mostly wild speculation but hey.. it's been fun for me to write and get this all off my chest!
