EDITORIAL: My Theory On Ultron In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

In this editorial I will talk about which phase 2 film I think Ultron may appear in first. Also I will give my thoughts on how Ultron could be created in the MCU.

Why I think Ultron Will Appear in Captain America: The Winter Soldier?

Now why do I think Ultron will appear in Captain America: The Winter Soldier you ask. Now my theory started with the SDCC footage of the film. In the footage Alexander Pierce says these words "To build a better world sometimes means tearing the old one down. And that makes enemies.". Now I've been thinking for a while about how he would accomplish this. I mean I don't think that the Winter Soldier, Crossbones, and Arnim Zola can take out the entire planet unless they have one murderous robot on their side. Or perhaps I should say a couple of thousands of Ultrons. Now I got the idea of an army of Ultrons from Avengers: Earths Mightiest Hero because int here there isn't just one Ultron at first instead there is a veritable army of Ultrons. Another thing that gave me this idea was the above concept art. You see in the art You can;'t really see just what exactly the Quinjet and all the other soldiers are attacking all you see is explosions.

Now On To My Ultron Creation Theory

Now I know many people believe that Tony Stark will be the creator but I don't think it will be that simple. You see I think Ultron's exact creator will be left a mystery but will be hinted at in Age of Ultron and The winter Soldier. Yet I believe the form he will use to take on the Avengers will be created by the Avenger, or at least indirectly. think the members will be involved in his creation as follows.

Iron Man: As shown in the Age of Ultron teaser I think that Ultron's body will be built out of an Iron Man armor which will be Stark's role in Ultron's creation.

Thor: I think Thor will lend to Ultron's creation by being the source of his weaponry. Either through some left over Dark Elf and Asgardian tech in the dark world or some Chitauri tech from the Avengers which was brought by Thor's brother Loki.

Captain America: I believe his role in the creation of Ultron will either be that his battle with Alexander Pierce will be Ultron's example for why Ultron thinks humans should be destroyed or he will search for vibranium after seeing Cap's shield.

Bruce Banner: Doctor Banner I believe will be the creator of Gamma radiation power source that Ultron will use. After all even in the comics he uses a nuclear generator as a power supply.

Hawkeye, Black Widow, and S.H.I.E.L.D: Now I think these three things will lend to Ultron the final piece that will make him an powerful threat to the Avengers. As seen in the Avengers and Iron Man 2 S.H.I.E.L.D makes assessments of those who were being considered for the Avengers Initiative.. I think these assessments will be very valuable to Ultron and will be what he uses to try and take down the Avengers

So that is the end of my editorial so remember to sound off below.

I'll add something to your 'Thor's role in Ultron's creation' theory: How about the Destroyer?

The Fury's Big Week tie-in comic shows that SHIELD has the Destroyer armor in their possesion and the Avengers show that they already found ways of weaponizing it (Coulson's cannon-gun). So, what if the Destroyer is, let's say, the inspiration for Ultron?

I'm sure I've heard that somewhere. :-P

Great theory man, I'm starting to think the same thing. Although maybe Ultron already HAS appeared, or an early approximation of him, with the Mark 42.

Great theory. I could totally see this.

Scorpion8125 Even if they kill Ultron he can't die. He will always upload himself somewhere. That's the great thing about him. Hopefully Marvel will continue to use him after AOU.

Nice theory.
I was thinking that Tony might actually create and program a new AI Iron Man suit that he uses to replace himself as Iron Man. We already saw Mark 42, so maybe he steps-up the technology to make a completely autonomous Iron Man (even disconnected from Jarvis) who can continue as Iron Man since Tony is at an impasse at the end of IM3.

I heard a rumor that the US military is going to build Ultron. Maybe using Iron Man tech or Hammer tech, parts from the Destroyer or even Chitauri leftovers.

I believe that Ultron will be made from the Destroyer amour mixed with other technology (i.e. Iron Man tech). In Avengers we learnt that SHIELD has the destroyer armour and is experimenting with turning it into weapons they can use, they have turned it into a gun that Coulson used, what else could they build...

I was thinking that black Widow dying makes a tremendous amount of sense even though they payed her a boat load of money. Story wise her death would have impact.

@GliderMan
"Cap is her boyfriend in Cap 2"

That's nice. Does she wear his jacket and everything?

I dunno...this simplistic way of putting their relationship in Cap 2 just really made me chuckle.

If Stark said he was using designs sent to him by Henry Pym, problem solved.

Cool theory. I think Thanos is going to do some more behind the scenes stuff. Who knows, he may be the one manipulating Pierce in Cap 2. All that effort for revenge, that's his style. If his plan fails he won't be afraid to come down and get his hands dirty in Avengers 3. He could be the reason Jarvis becomes corrupted.
