It's a toy for children, and it looks good for a toy. There's no way a toy is going to live up to the desire of adult collectors, who seem to be unable to move past their perpetual far out and unrealistic expectations regarding children's toys.

Re: Sky Captain. The comparison is stupid - a giant flying metal ship is not an original idea, they were both probably inspired by similar sources or came up with it independently.

@orpheus so the fact they are both aircraft carriers powered by helicopter propellers and commanded by a one-eyed captain is just pure coincidence to you?

100% WIMPY!!!!

Is this the Helicarrier SHUTTLE that attaches? Why b!tch about size? Hasbro made a 7.5 foot carrier for GI Joe. Come on Hasbro, make it bigger! This is a Helicarrier-Lite Life Raft!

@Rokker10:
I wasn't starting shit I was talking about the [frick]ing toy! LMAO
Chill the [frick] out. Not once did I criticize the film in that comment. And I was on topic, this article is about the Helicarrier toy, is it not?
I say one thing about an action figure and yall start the whole Nolanite shit.
Hell, look at that, you even started a scoreboard.
By the looks of it, you're the one trying to start shit. Marvel Supremacists now a days smh

@lntrn8 THAT SHIT IS CRAZY HUGE FOR A TOY (thats what she said)!!!! I'm surprised my spoiled ass friend didn't have this when we were kids. He was a GI JOE fanatic. But yeah, that shits all over that little carrier up there that would shatter into a million plastic pieces when the cat steps on it.

@Helagood
Didn't know Nick Fury's the pilot. Eyepatchs and flying vehicles (with propellers and turbines) doesn't seem like a huge rip to me or even an association anyone would make. Sky Captain is Pulp, eyepatch and that kind of steampunk propeller vehicle seem pretty pulp to me.

HelaGood - "so the fact they are both aircraft carriers powered by helicopter propellers and commanded by a one-eyed captain is just pure coincidence to you?"

The Helicarrier design originates from the 60s, just like Captain Scarletts Skybase. Now when was Skycaptain created? 2000 and something? Who's copying who now?

"The "mobile airstrip" that appears in the film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow is an homage to the Marvel Helicarrier"

HelaGood, I think you should bow down before me.

@Newbus no doubt Sky Captain copied from Marvel but i totally missed the fact that they did so as an homage. AND i forgot totally about Capt. Scarlett!!

dude you so totally rule!

*BOWING*

@Orpheus i said they were "commanded by a one-eyed captain" not piloted.
