Talking to
Total Film, director Joss Whedon has opened up a little more about his ongoing work on
The Avengers, which is just a few more shooting days away from wrapping up filming altogether. Discussing what it's been like bringing his own unique directorial style to the movie, he also points out that he's being careful not to lazily blend the superheroes together.
"You have to respect the realities of the other movies. But visually this is very much my own thing. My style is very comic-book-like anyway, so I’m trying to do things the way I always do".
"Part of Iron Man’s thing was, 'Wow, this feels just like us! Asgard, less so, and Captain America was a nostalgia piece, so basically it would have been like hiring all the composers of all the other movies to work together on the score."
What do you guys make of Whedon's comments? I don't think we need to worry too much about any Ang Lee style comic book panels popping up throughout the movie, as it seems like Whedon is instead referring to his directing style as a whole. Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!
