Despite having multiple projects such as AKA Jessica Jones and a Hulk series in the making, Disney's Marvel and ABC Studios are toying with the idea of something rather new. According to the infamous Deadline, the studios are looking to expand cinematic universe on the small screen, with an Avengers-themed series. The site claims:

“I’ve learned that Marvel’s TV division is in conversation with ABC and ABC Studios about doing a drama series in the Avengers world. I hear that the the connection to the Avengers franchise would be light as the project is expected to be set in the universe and feature some of its themes and feel but may not include any characters from Joss Whedon’s blockbuster.”

The site further claims that the untitled project is described as “a kernel of an idea,” in regards to its current stage. And that various concepts are being considered, including a high-concept cop show. And lastly, the studios are currently in search of a new writer. It's not clear what character(s) will feature. What do you think?
