Earlier this month, it was first revealed that distributors were in search of a rock band to compose & sing a Hindi title song for the Indian release of The Avengers. While two bands were shortlisted, Euphoria and Agnee, from India, and Pakistani rock outfits Strings and Jal, Disney has confirmed that Agnee is on the job.

Confirming the news, a spokesperson from Walt Disney says, “This initiative is to help The Avengers connect with a wider audience. Agnee’s popularity with the youth will complement the popularity of The Avengers. We are glad that we have signed them to compose the theme song.”

The film will have a 3D release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Elated to be part of the international project, Mohan, the band’s lead vocalist, reveals that the lyrics of the song will be written by Abbas Tyrewala.

“The song is going to be at par with the mood and feel of the story. It will be a great experience working with Disney and Abbas. We have already started working on the song.”

The Indian rock band are the first to have seen a mainstream release, with a collective of individual styles of composing including Classic rock, Pop and Carnatic, Hindustani classical and Indian influences.

Anyhow, The Avengers will be released in India a week prior the the U.S. release.
