Following Thanos' (Josh Brolin) failed trades with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in Marvel's The Avengers and Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) in Guardians of the Galaxy, the Avengers: Age of Ultron post-credits scene saw the Mad Titan finally step down from his floating throne and begin his quest to personally obtain all six of the Infinity Stones. "Fine, I'll do it myself," says the supervillain as he slips on his Infinity Stone-less Gauntlet. We probably won't see Thanos again until the two-part Avengers: Infinity War on May 4, 2018, and May 3, 2019, if not it in the inevitable mid-credits tags for Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 1 on May 5, 2017, or Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017, so watch the Age of Ultron tag in HD below. Look for the Marvel sequel in  Digital HD on September 8.

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure. Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Avengers: Age of Ultron May 1, 2015.

So The Mind Gem is with Vision....So is Thanos going to snatch it from Vision in Civil War or maybe Vision appears in Thor Ragnarok...?

I hated this tag. It felt forced. You weren't really expecting Thanos, but it wasn't in the same sort of way as you weren't expecting him in the first Avengers movie. Shit tag.

Can't wait to see how he goes about doing it. I really hope he is a strong, different, and intimidating antagonist. I haven't been in favor with how Marvel has handled some of their antagonists in the past.

Yeah, the post credit scene was very spontaneous, but just seeing Thanos wield the IG is a lot to fathom. They're giving him a slow buildup and I hope it's worth it. He's visually been brought to justice. Phase 3 is truly going to be an event.

I honestly forgot all about this post credit scene. Next year's will be more worthy. But where did he get the gauntlet? From the Nova corps facility? He strolled in there and just took it? lol

@AlexanderLykins

It's not to say that he's been watching The Avengers, but he knows what's been happening. Thanos is aware of the fact that Loki and Ronan have failed the mission he gave them, so he's deciding to go get the stones himself. This tag connects back to The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy to where the audience should know what is going on; Thanos was featured in both movies and his role was made clear in both movies.

Why is Thanos always smiling?

I hope the Russos and the Cap writers go back and look at Starlin's take on the character. Thanos needs to be more contemplative and brooding, not a grinning warlord.

I'd have preferred the scene a whole lot more if we saw Thanos walking down a corridor first, or landing in a ship. Just something to give context.

All the people bitching to bitch
Only one point to address
"His appearance made no sense after Avengers 1!"
If you watched that whole movie, if you watched five minutes of that movie and DIDNT expect Thanos you're an idiot.

You guys are downplaying this scene by a lot. Let's not forget: there's also people, who are part of the general audience, who don't look at spoilers or leaked footage online. Imagine if this scene were to never be in any of the movies and we just jumped to the Infinity War movies; the people would be kind of confused and, possibly, more would have to be explained in a both of the movies. There's already enough going in the movies, especially since it's been split into two parts and are both expected to be made up of The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more characters.

@Superior is on point.

Thanos is getting a slow build up before the inevitable clash between Thanos and the Avengers.
