BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN, PART ONE Clip Highlights Jensen Ackles' Awesome Take On Bruce Wayne

Warner Bros. Animation has shared the first clip from Batman: The Long Halloween, a highly anticipated adventure that is so grand in scale that it's set to play out across two separate movies (the second part arrives on July 27, so there won't be too big of a gap between both instalments).

In this latest sneak peek, it's Halloween night, and Bruce Wayne (voiced by Jensen Ackles) and his butler Alfred Pennyworth (Alastair Duncan) discuss the lack of trick-or-treaters visiting Wayne Manor, and lament the deterioration of Gotham City. Little do they know what’s soon to come.

Inspired by the classic story from Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One begins as a brutal murder on Halloween prompts Gotham's young vigilante, the Batman, to form a pact with the city's only two uncorrupt lawmen (Police Captain James Gordan and District Attorney Harvey Dent) in order to take down The Roman, head of the notorious Falcone Crime Family.

However, when more deaths occur on Thanksgiving and Christmas, it becomes clear that instead of ordinary gang violence, they're also dealing with a serial killer - the identity of whom, with each conflicting clue, grows harder to discern. Few cases have ever tested the wits of the World's Greatest Detective like the mystery behind the Holiday Killer.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, the all-new feature-length Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One arrives on Digital & Blu-ray on June 22, 2021.

😍😍😍😍

That’s the shot right there. Bruce has a straight on few from his front porch directly looking at Gotham.

Beauty.

@IronGenesis - I loved that too. Even the mansion, I love that it’s got a little Burton, a little comics, and a little TAS touches to it.

Ackles should get an animated series as Batman.

Not really sold yet on Ackles as Bruce Wayne, but that's about it. The rest of the movie looks and sounds so damn promising

I was a little worried about the animation style, but it looks genuinely good here. The Halloween atmosphere with the designs is perfect! And the acting is stellar. Can't wait!

Damn that was boring.😂 Major Batman Year One animated movie vibes. Very stiff and low on energy. Hopefully the whole movie isn't like that.

@99OPTIMISTPRIME - Year one is one of the very best animated Batflicks imo. I love that dark, somber tone

I might in the minority here, but I didn’t think Superman: Man of Tomorrow was that good. I do really dig this new animation style that both movies are using, but I just remember watching MOT and several times saying to myself “huh, thats kinda silly..”

Its also kinda odd that they would insist that this Batman story is stand-alone / not connected to anything, but use the exact same kinda of animation as Superman MOT and Justice Society WWII. I hope they retcon it in the future to all be part of the same shared universE. I know people for some reason weren’t huge fans of the recent DCAU, but I really enjoyed all those. I thought the stories/animation/voice acting were great, but I especially liked that it very much felt like the MCU with the same characters popping up across different stories. Felt like what we all hoped the DCEU would be.

Jensen Ackles sounds like he's going to kill it as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

This is aggressively my shit. Between this, the new animated series and the new movie, I feel we're getting back on track with Batman. Let's just hope it all pans out because I can't handle more overexposure with Batman.
