Thanks to IGN, we have the first trailer for Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two

Jensen Ackles will, of course, continue to play the Dark Knight in this second half of the highly anticipated adaptation of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's classic comic book arc. If this sneak peek is any indication, we can look forward to his Batman squaring off with plenty of iconic rogues as the story unfolds.

"The Long Halloween, Part Two chronicles the second half of this yearlong crime saga," reads the synopsis. "As the mysterious Holiday Killer continues their deadly crime spree, District Attorney Harvey Dent is pushed to the brink in his quest to bring justice to Gotham City. As the trailer shows, The Long Halloween is also the origin story of Two-Face."

"Making matters worse, Bruce Wayne has been captured by Poison Ivy, leaving Gotham undefended during its darkest hour. Even mob boss Carmine Falcone is becoming increasingly desperate, striking a Faustian bargain with Gotham's new generation of super-criminals."

Most of Part One's cast will be returning, but there are going to be some new additions, including Robin Atkin Downes (The Strain) as both Scarecrow and Thomas Wayne, John DiMaggio (Futurama) as the Mad Hatter, Laila Berzins (Genshin Impact) as Sofia Falcone, Jim Pirri (World of Warcraft) as Sal Maroni, and Zach Callison (The Goldbergs) as Young Bruce Wayne. Gary Leroi Gray and Rick Wasserman also provide additional voice work.

A release date hasn't been confirmed yet, but it's expected to arrive in stores and on Digital platforms later this year. We'll keep you updated on that front, but for now check out the trailer below:

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - The animation they went with looks way better. I don't care if it isn´t sufficiently comic accurate for you.

@dracula - They already did that with the new 52 universe and it sucked. Each animated adaptation should have its own unique style. That's how it was done between 2007 and 2014.

@RageDriver2401 - Nope. But I guess since Part Two is releasing later this year they put out the trailer early.
