Rocksteady has finally announced the new release date for the highly anticipated final installment in their hit Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Knight. The game after initially being delayed from October 14, 2014 was expected to hit stores sometime in January 2015, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore as the new release date has been revealed to be June 2, 2015

Even though the wait is over 9 months now, it looks like Rocksteady is really taking every precaution to assure that they deliver the best product they can, which should be welcome news to all fans of the series.

Along with the announcement of new release date came the announcement of two special editions for the game: a Batmobile Edition, which comes with a fully transformable Batmobile statue, and a Limited Edition, which comes with a 12" Batman statue. Both editions will come with a special Steelbook case, an art book, an issue of the Batman: Arkham Knight comic book, and three exclusive New 52 character skins.

The Limited Edition will be available for $99.99 in the U.S. and the Batmobile Edition will be available for $199.99. Both special editions will be exclusive to the PS4 & Xbox One. You can see previews for both below!

In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady's uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City. Be The Batman.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be available June 2, 2015
