Very good! But Iron Man has always been Marvel's answer to the Bat.

May be that DC nailed down Batman so well that Marvel had to split up two guys!

This is exactly why I'm glad Tony revealed his identity. It really separated the two franchises after,"I Am Iron Man"

clever comparsion,i loved both films so bring on ironman 2 & announce batman 3.

Interesting comparison. Though there are similarities, I must say they are merely superficial. Both Millionaires who choose to fight crime. Correct. However Bruce suffered a psychological tragedy in his youth. Tony was a P.O.W. in Vietnam (Middle East in the movie). Batman dedicated his life to became the perfect weapon to fight crime. Tony built the perfect weapon to fight crime. Batman pretends to be a buffoon, playboy womanizer, while secretly being a bad-ass crime fighter. Tony is a millionaire playboy womanizer, who decided to fight crime. They are similar on the surface, but the more you dig, the less alike they really are.

Jib7z - 2/22/2010, 3:19 PM
That was a pretty epic comparison. I do have to agree with rsalas. The Bat wins. Iron Man is a rad comicbook hero. But we always have to follow Nerd Commandment #7. Batman wins. No questions asked. He will always win. Given, i'm talking comicbook hero versus comicbook hero... I wanted to clarify that before somebody thought i was talking about the movies and brings up the most dreaded thing that isnt Dragonball Evolution.... which is naturally, Batman and Robin.
flames809
flames809 - 2/22/2010, 3:31 PM
batman wins in the new movie and comic. batman fights with out weapons and ironman fights with weapons to different thing. batman both parents die and tony dad died different thing. Bruce became a hero so the tragedy that happen to him doesn't happen to no one else. tony become a hero to save his own self until he found out that people were using his weapon to do danger to the world he decided to help it. so there different and alike like mclovin said

Nope sorry, Christiasn Bale's ruin of a comic book character does not come close to RDJ's performance. if we're talking performance wise and character wise RDJ wins hands down. As for the comic charcaters themesleves I'm more of a Batman fan. But RDJ is my man-crush...all who oppose him MUST DIE!!! >:P

It's amazing how i never noticed this before, but i'm a huge fan of both... Somebody has a lot of time on their hands. LOL
tazmaniak
tazmaniak - 2/22/2010, 4:10 PM
I prefer RDJ's Iron Man because it is spot on, while Bale's Batman is only remotely similar to the comic book incarnation.

"Playboy billionaire who gets thrown into prison, only to then fight his way out and use his wealth to help fight crime instead of being selfish. He, of course, has to use his company's top secret projects to do so."

To be fair, most of that was always Iron Man's origin, whereas it was only given to Batman in Begins.

Ryden - 2/22/2010, 4:17 PM
@kenny- exactly, Nolan changed a lot of things from the TRUE Batman mtyhos
Jib7z
Jib7z - 2/22/2010, 4:53 PM
I do agree with everybody saying that RDJ is better than Bale. I honestly didnt know that was something to be disputed.

@dellamorte The commandment thing came from a previous CBM post that came from some other site if i'm not mistaken. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/sgarandomcomicstuff/news/?a=14271

The commandment in question is number 7. Which states:

"7) Thou shalt acknowledge that Batman beats everyone, ever, anywhere at fighting. That's right, he beats everybody. Even Optimus Prime. Even Darth Vader. Even Chuck Norris. He'd find a way. He's the [explitive] Batman. "

I do agree with the dispute between the movies as well. Although i still take Batman Begins over Iron Man, simply because I've been a Batman fan since i was like 3. I'm 20 now. I'm addicted to the Bat. Well, I'm addicted to Dick Grayson as a character, and he's the Batman right now.
tazmaniak
tazmaniak - 2/22/2010, 5:01 PM
I think the Batman Beats Everyone scenario only applies to fights, not to who's the better character. Can Batman beat Spider-Man in a fight.I guess the rules say he can.But is Batman a better character than Spider-Man?I have to say, no way.
McLovin
McLovin - 2/22/2010, 5:38 PM
@dellamorte1872 - Thanks dude:-)
I didn't realize this was the "whose got the bigger dick argument". I just thought they were saying that both movies had the same plot. But I'm always entertained to see how quickly everybody pulls out their measuring tapes. LOL ;-)
McLovin
McLovin - 2/22/2010, 5:41 PM
p.s. Batman IS the coolest superhero EVER. Therefore by extension of my previous comment, he also has the biggest shlong in both DC and Marvel Universes. The End.

SHAZAM171
SHAZAM171 - 2/22/2010, 6:20 PM
That's why Christopher Nolan wants the story for the 3rd Batman movie to be a plot the can't be duplicated. Just like The Dark Knight, Original Story and something fresh and new. Hollywood loves to do remakes... I guess that goes for plots as well. Hollywood needs to snap out of this whole recycling fad. It's starting to annoy me. Oh and am I the only one that thinks Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is a Shazam/Captain Marvel rip off??
InFamouslyCool
InFamouslyCool - 2/22/2010, 6:38 PM
justice league unlimited's batman is the best batman ever.
McLovin
McLovin - 2/22/2010, 6:42 PM
@Shazam171 - I've not seen Lightning Thief because it looked like I would need to bring a kid with me just to excuse my presence. Since I don't have children, that would have been an awkward request to make to any parent. Anyway, isn't that movie PG? Dude, why did you go see it? Even the DC animation they make today is at least PG-13.

foxfan - 2/22/2010, 6:51 PM
i like bale as batman, he's done a great job, but i still don't think we've had the perfect lead man cast as batman yet (and PLEASE don't say keaton). rdj is DEFINITELY the perfect iron man, the best comic casting job outside of the guy who plays JJJ.
