Christian Bale Excited The Dark Knight Rises will End the 'Batman' Franchise

The returning 'Bruce Wayne' actor proclaims his excitement for The Dark Knight Rises, with MTV News because, as director Christopher Nolan maintains, it'll be the last one.

Speaking with MTV News' Eric Ditzian, actor Christian Bale says he's 'very excited' to team up with director Christoper Nolan once more for the much-anticipated Dark Knight Rises, considering it'll be the last of the franchise, as Nolan maintains. Bale also acknowledges the trust of his director's secrecy.



"Chris will let me know what I need to know when I need to know it," Bale told MTV News while promoting "The Fighter." "It's our fourth movie together. I probably know a little bit more than some other people out there, but I think most people would be surprised at how little I do know."

"Very excited, because if Chris maintains, this will be the last one," Bale said, adding, "We've got to up it." "It just hasn't been necessary yet," Bale explained about not knowing very much about the upcoming film. "I know he'll give me plenty of time to prepare for whatever I need to, and I'll discover it. He's a pretty damn good filmmaker. I trust that he's going to come up with something wonderful."


The Dark Knight Rises in theaters July 20, 2012, with production commencing in New Orleans in April.

Christian Bale is a badass. He's the only actor I know of who's played Bob Dylan, Batman, and Jesus, which is pretty much a perfect trifecta. The Prestige and American Psycho and Rescue Dawn are all great too.

Too bad Terminator Salvation sucked so bad though.

Talia, Bane (Dont underestimate him. He could be pretty smart and scary villain. Javier Bardem would be great) and Red Hood (Could be a vengeful son of Ra´s Al Ghul or some other douche bag who tries to kill the legend of Bats), Black Mask, Hugo Strange, Deadshot, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Max Cort, Anarky or The Penguin as the third villain.

Bale as Batman is by far and away the best thing about the Nolan movies.

Iron Man going stale? Yeah that $600 million Iron Man II has raked in must have been a fluke.

Expectations. Going to be fun to see them play out this time.

How is Bale a "tool"??? He's a great actor, you wanna discredit him for an on set blow up??? He had good reason and has had NO complaints from other actors OR directors. He hasn't done a bad job yet, American Psycho, Rescue Dawn, Public Ememies, Harsh Times, The Prestige, 310 to Yuma, and I'm not there to name a few....

publice enemies sucked ass. i was really looking forward for that movie when it came out and it was boring as crap. as far as batman goes we'll get this last one with bale in it and then there will be a reboot within the next 10 years which i hope happens because i want to see the movies go back to the comic roots and see joker transformed from a chemical waste. and i really dont want to see a female lead in the next one. the character rachel was quite annoying and im glad they killed her off. every damn female always know who batman is. screw the romance for the next film. its about being batman and still running from the law not banging girls even tho thats what bruce/batman is about as well.

I'll Be glad when Nolans run his Batman Movies are ok but Skinny ass Batman, The Refusal to Add Robin One of the Most Iconic Sidekicks ever and his 2 and a half hour Batman Movie where you hardley see batman longer than 15 minutes kinda gets on my nerves. Watching The Dark Knight I have noticed that the movie can be very boring, but whatever thats just my opinion if you don't end Batman with the Beginning of Robin then FRICK you Nolan, Your missing the other side of Bruce Wayne and Batman because Batman needs a Robin. To do Three Movies and Not even mention The Graysons at all is pathetic!

it won't be warners last one.

they can only make batman & superman films,they don't like taking risks with any other characters.

its only taken 52 years to get the green lantern on the big screen.

If they do decide to make more movies in this storyline, this next one will have to be FREAKING EPIC to overcome the 3rd movie curse. Any CBM franchise that has made it to 3 has lost the point, overflowed with villains and been all around bad.

I hope Nolan will get over that hump.

Also... He's very good at playing Batman in the movies... I don't really care how much of an @$$ he his in his own life.

Kevin Conroy IS the one true voice of the Batman. I even hear his voice when I read the comics. There's never been a better Bat-voice, but he doesn't look the part, so we'll leave the movies up to Bale.

You people who think bale sucks let me just say cloony and kilmer those movies sucked bale is by far the best Batman/ Bruce Wayne yet and I hope they never reboot the franchise cause this is the best comic book movies I have ever seen and for those of you who don't like them don't watch them
