Christian Bale To Have Body Of Olympic Athlete For The Dark Knight Rises?

A source close to the actor say he is preparing for his role in the next Batman installment like it is his last.

It looks like Christan Bale has started getting ready for The Dark Knight Rises. A source close to the actor revels what he is doing to prepare for the role.

Says the source:

Christian prepares for every role as if it will be his last, but with Bruce Wayne and Batman he feels this is his last chance to really nail the role. He’s pouring over comic books and he’s started the kind of diet and exercise regime that is more in line with an Olympic athlete than an actor. He’s going to be in the best shape of his life by the time he gets the Bat suit on again.”

The Dark Knight will start filming later this year.

and he should. in batman begins he was huge and in tdk he got smaller. of course it was the suit's fault too. in tdk it gave him a big head compared to the rest of the body.

Olympic athlete, eh? Well, if that's the case, he better be pulling off the acrobatics Ninja Assassin did, lol. I want some agility and swift kicks. Make him fight like a true ninja instead of ONLY Key-si.

He definetly has to for this role. Can't wait to see.

The guy's a [frick]kin machine and master actor.

@Jer3miah the only reason the do Key-si is beacuse thats only fighting style that can work with the suit it restricts the amount movement some one can do, if you want him to fight differently then there going to have to make the suit much lighter. But it definitely would be cool to see him actually fighting like a ninja.

you have to hand it to Bale the dudes dedicated to what ever role he does, he's willing to starve him self death for a role. But it should definitely interesting seeing how much he really bulks up because he looked bigger in Batman Begins, but smaller in TDK.

he was in fine shape in the others. what he NEEDS to be studying is how to talk like he isn't a throat cancer victim when he's in the Batsuit. Thats the only thing holding him back from being a great Batman, in my opinion.

@Exiles: Yeah, touche`. The Key-Si Fighting Method does limit the need for extensive movement. But then again, so does Ninjutsu. Ninjutsu is made to get straight to the point. It's not for putting on a show like other Martial Arts. Ninjutsu can easily be put in the next film. Merging that with Key-Si would be better, however, since Bats has made that his signature fighting style.

The Dark Knight Rises Batman 3
That's the suit he should have next, but instead, they should make it a different material so that he can be able to perform more students and agile movement. He didn't throw a single kick in TDK except for when he kicked a door open to get Harvey. That's it.

Bales always in shape, and I have absolutely no problem with his Batman voice, it sounds gutteral, just the way Batman should sound!

That is the greatest thing I have ever seen!!! Holy shit it's amazing! A mix between BB, TDK and a little bit of Arkham Asylum! I'd love if there was a suit like that in the Dark Knight Rises. Tough I doubt they'll have it grey and black. Just black probably.

GREAT!:)

Hope he and Nolan change Batman´s fighting style in more acrobatic way too!
It should be something like Scott Adkins ninjitsu moves!:)
Those are awesome, bad ass and brutal as hell!

@Jer3miah
That is an awesome suit.Nice mix of the two Bale suits.
@Kirbyfan
I have no problem with his voice either.It heightens the difference between Bats and Bruce and makes him more animalistic.It seems to just be fashion to jump on it as a fault these days.No one had a problem with it in B.Begins.Like calling Tobey Maguire fat(!?!?!?!) as Spidey.Everyone was singing his praises until SM3.Two faced fans who follow one or two smart arses opinions and adopt them as their own because they are incapable of being individuals.

@AlexDeLarge87
The reason Keysi was picked as his style was because it would work on the street.Flashy fighting styles simply don't work.Sure they 'look' good but they don't have the grit and realism that Nolan wanted.Every time you jump in the air or spin you put yourself at risk of being countered.The point of Keysi is to put your opponent down in the most direct way possible.Hence it's The Batmans style of choice.

Amazo@ true but i still think Nolan should make Batman more acrobatic this time maybe not as acrobatic as those Adkins moves but something that goes little bit in that way but still manages to keep the grit and realism in it.

@Alex
I do agree that a little more mobility is needed (maybe that is what they are leading up to with the introduction of the new suit in TDK).Some kicks would be nice.But they can be incorporated into Keysi without any problems.I'd like to see him dragging people off and disappearing into shadows again :)

@Alex
Something like the way he moves in the Dr.Strange trailer for Arkham City would work for me mate.Keysi-ish with some more body movement and kicks :)

@Jer3miah, great design man. don't know where you found it but the studio should def be taking a look at it unless they have a better design themself

I understand what you are saying about why the used Keysi for the fighting techniques. In that it is more realistic..but Batman was accomplished in many different styles and combined them all effectively.

The only thing that caught my eye on this was the fact that he is now reading the comics to land the role. I figure he would have done that from the get go.

Hope the helmet don't look like a ping pong ball like the last one.

If he's going to be in the "best shape of his life" then he may just give Hugh Jackman a run for his money! Considering how big Bale was in American Psycho he should be pretty damn buff in TDKR.

I like the Keysi fighting style. I always figured Batman woudl be more of a "get to the point and knock you out" type of fighter than one to hop about with high kicks. That's what made Michael Keaton's Batman so awesome. He just stood there until the bad guy got close enough and took him out with one hit... albeit a high kick but still it wasn't flashy!

That sounds great if IT'S TRUE. I don't know who this "source" is. I hope so, because Bale seemed to be buffer in Begins, but when he takes his shirt off in TDK in the "Really Big Dog" scene with Alfred, he's scrawny and has no definition. Also, I have the urge to see BATMAN kicking the shit out of people with a more flashy martial arts style, but I understand why it isn't done this way in Nolans films. But that's ok. He breaks people down like Solid Snake in Metal Gear.

@Jer3miah I agree with you dude don't get me wrong they should definitely incorporate more ninjitsu in to his fighting style and mix it up with Key-si, they have make the suit more flexible first
