COMICS: SPOILER WARNING! Who Will Be Batman's New Robin? Find Out Here

A very familiar face will take the mantle of Robin in January in the pages of Peter J. Tomasi and Patrick Gleason's Batman and Robin #38, and we have the spoiler-filled cover and solicitation text for you right here. There's about to be a very big change in the status quo of the Caped Crusader's world...

The team of Batman and Robin are together again! But what is the new dynamic for this crimefighting duo now that Damian has super powers of his own?

So, Batman's trip to Apokalips will obviously be a success, but Damian will return to the land of the living with powers (making him perhaps the most formidable Robin to date). It's interesting that DC Comics would decide to reveal this now, but it's sure to get fans talking! How do you guys feel about the return of Bruce Wayne's son and the fact that he's been given something of an upgrade? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts on this latest development in the usual place...

But we all knew this was going to happen to begin with. Comic book deaths haven't meant anything for the last 20 years.

Wolverine dies: "Who gives a shit he'll be back in a few months."
Damien Wayne is resurrected: "YES OMFG HE'S BACK SQUEEEE!!!"

Smfh comic book fans these days are just never happy. Everything is a double standard for these people.

Seriously Damien has powers now? Doesn't that completely kill the whole dynamic of the Bat Family with every member being powerless fighting against threats much more dangerous then them yet never backing down from said threats.

I like Damien, look at his interaction with the other Robins (most notably Tim Drake)

Well, Wolverine has died at least 10 times. Damien has only died once.

I can't really blame the people who didn't care when Wolverine died again.

Yes! I love this little bastard! Morrison really [frick]ed up by killing him, and just when Tomasi was doing good character development with him and the family too.

Another comic character revived from the dead. They could've just made a new Robin either African American or a woman since thats the trend today.

@Pasto As far as I know Wolverine has never died "permenantly" like Superman, Cap or Batman in the 616 universe. The reason people say that about Wolverine is because he's a popular character so supposedly his death won't last long. I don't disagree. I fully believe he's going to be resurrected in time for Xmen Apocalypse. But cheering for Damien's return after so little time has gone by since his death and simultaneously calling out Wolverine about the same thing? It's hypocritical.

Dick died but not really.
Jason died but not really.
Stephanie died but not really.
Damian died but not really.

DC is once again dragging their feet with Tim. When is his fake death coming?

I'm super pleased with Damian returning, though I think everyone knew this would happen for months.
Pasto
Pasto - 10/20/2014, 3:38 PM
@AstonishingArachnid
I slightly see your point. What I think, is that since Damien has only died once more people are going to care more about his resurrection. Now flash-forward to the second or third time he dies, people probably wouldn't be able to give LESS of a shit about it. Thats the thing that happened to Wolverine, he's "died" so many times that people just don't care.

The last comic book death that meant something was Barry Allen. Dude stayed dead for like 20 years.

I don't know, someone dies 3 or 4 times, wouldn't you start to care less and less?
