According to Entertainment Weekly, Cory Michael Smith (Dog Food, Camp X-Ray) has joined the cast of Gotham as Edward Nygma, the man who goes on to become iconic Batman villain The Riddler. He'll be a guest star in the pilot, but the option is appparently there for that role to then be expanded into a series regular. Recent iterations of a younger Nygma - in "The New 52" continuity - have portrayed him as an unhinged employee of Wayne Industries, but here he'll be "a brilliant young forensic scientist working for Gotham PD and a penchant for speaking in … rather cryptic language. Inquisitive, eccentric and outgoing — yet socially awkward — he wants to be liked, but he doesn’t quite know how." How do you guys feel about this news?

@ MrSid

LOL! Well the Riddler was never really a ugly guy unless you take into the account the Arkham video games.

@ Comedian

Actually I disagree they can have several story lines go on just like in Game of Thrones (NO FANBOYS I AM NOT COMPARING THIS SHOW TO GOT).

This show's concept is undermining the idea of Batman. The idea that his presence creates his villains. Besides, at this rate these villains will be seniors by the time Bruce donnes the cape.

@Comedian03 I think you mean Arrow lol, AoS has been criticized for having too few recognizable names while Arrow throws em around like its nothing.

I dont see the problem with having these characters show up before they take on their supervillain aliases its not like the majority of them aren't from Gotham anyway.

So, basically Batman pretty much only ever fights people who are 15-30 years older than he is... Sounds legit.

I'm content not looking like him :P

Besides, LP4, the lighting makes him look more handsome than he actually is.
