Canadian-Irish actor Donal Logue ("The Tao of Steve") is certainly no stew. The seasoned actor has appeared in films like, Blade and Ghost Rider, as well televison shows, Sons of Anarchy and Vikings. His next venture is Fox's latest comic book-based television show, Gotham. He'll play Detective Harvey Bullock, a seasoned cop that helps mentor Jim Gordon as he rises through the ranks of the Gotham police department. Before you get too excited, just remember this show is going to feature a very young Bruce Wayne, who is many years away from becoming The Dark Knight. Will people tune in to a Gotham-oriented show minus the Batman? Maybe Donal can convince you.

"It's interesting because people will say, 'What good is Gotham? A Gotham without Batman is stupid!,'" the actor acknowledged. "What's fascinating about Gotham is like, what happened in the 20 years before Batman was so effed up that it needed a vigilante to come and save it -- and those moral decisions have repercussions. Like, Gordon does stuff that seems to come from a good place, but you can do something and -- this kind of goes back to the statecraft argument -- say, in Vikings time, if I want to kill my enemy, I have to kill his kids. If I don't kill sons, they're coming after me and mine for the rest of our lives. So you've got to pull the root out. That's something that Gordon struggles with, being that brutal. Then later, if some bad s**t goes down, you can say, 'Well, that was your bighearted moment.' It's kind of mock politics, so it'll be interesting to see. I'm super fascinated to see where a lot of these things go. The question is, how did we get there? How did we get to the point where we had to have a Batman?"
As Gordon navigates the often-underhanded politics of Gotham’s criminal justice system, Gordon will confront imposing gang boss FISH MOONEY (Jada Pinkett Smith, “The Matrix” films, “HawthoRNe,” “Collateral”), and many of the characters who will become some of fiction’s most renowned, enduring villains, including a teenaged Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman and Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin.

Cast: James Gordon played by Ben McKenzie (“Southland”), Barbara Kean played by Erin Richards (“Open Grave”), Harvey Bullock played by Donal Logue (“Sons of Anarchy”), Bruce Wayne played by David Mazouz (“Touch”), Fish Mooney played by Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith (“Collateral”), Selina Kyle/Catwoman played by Camren Bicondova, Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin played by Robin Lord Taylor (“Another Earth”), Police Captain Sarah Essen played by Zabryna Guevara (“Burn Notice”), Alfred Pennyworth played by Sean Pertwee (“Camelot”).

GOTHAM is based upon characters published by DC Comics and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Executive producer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist”) wrote the pilot, which will be directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the “CSI” series, “Nikita”).
