First Glimpse At The Logos For The Dark Knight Rises & Man of Steel

Click here to check out our first (low-res) look at the bat-symbol/logo for Christopher Nolan's upcoming movie The Dark Knight Rises as well as Zack Snyder's Man of Steel...

Courtesy of the very generous TheOnlyESQ on Twitter, the man who gave us our first glimpse at the licensing poster for Marvel's The Avengers as now given us our first glimpse at the bat-symbol/logo for Christopher Nolan's upcoming third installment in his Batman franchise The Dark Knight Rises as well as the new logo for Zack Snyder's upcoming movie Man of Steel

Now I'm not 100% positive whether this is the official logo for the Man of Steel movie or not. The Warner Bros. profile page on the website for the Licensing Expo website did list Man of Steel, I think this might just be something to throw out there to let fans know that the movie is still alive and well.

The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Josh Pence, Nestor Carbonell, Michael Caine , and is set for a July 20, 2012 release date.

Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, & Antje Traue.

What are we looking at here? A computer screen? Is this a convention panel? I'm confused. I would be hard pressed to think that that is actually the logo for the new superman movie. Looks like something that would be screen printed on a Wal-Mart T-Shirt.

Yes... the Licensing Expo for future projects is putting up promos trying to snag promotion partners for its week-old blu ray set whose cover looks nothing like that.

Absolutely. ;)

The Expo's in Vegas right? Because the other day I went to a Thai restaurant across from the university when I overheard two men {50s} in collared shirts and ties, more casual than professional, with convention tags I could not read, talking about comics and what movies are going to be released. They mentioned Hawkman and The Avengers, I faintly heard their comments. Then the waitress started to talking to them as if they're regulars. Probably nothing...

I remember seeing licensing posters, font, and logo for Green Lantern last year online and they are completely different than the finished project. Until the movie is finished filming, then we'll see some posters and logos that represent the film better. But if for some chance that is TDKR's poster, it's pretty boring. I was hoping the Bat Symbol rising from scarlet flames, reinvigorated, bright. Who else thinks red will be the shade for color grading in the film?

I just want to say that I remember the "licensing" logos for Thor and Cap at this alleged "festival", and they looked nothing like their final logos. In fact, they looked just like the fonts on each of their respective comic's titles. In fact, I think the Adventures of Tin-Tin is the exact same one used for Captain America a year ago. So, yeah... these and that Amazing Spider-Man poster mean absolute shit.

I'm thinking this is not for, or in reference to: M.O.S.

That probably is the official logo for: D.K.R. though. It's kool, I guess. it looks pretty... Safe

That's not my symbol lol. We needs some real news on MOS. I really think DC is going to see how GL does before they open the flood gates for MOS.

"to let fans know that the movie is still alive and well"

The movie is still happening? Wow, here i thought it was canceled since we haven't had a single update for like over a goddamn MONTH.

MarkCassidy - 6/14/2011, 7:10 AM
lol, Marvel, they aren't posters. You're comparing a bunch of cartoons in a picture to an unofficial logo.

I doubt either of these will have much to do with the movie's actual promotion. But if they do, Bats is going purple?

johnshadow24 - 6/14/2011, 7:14 AM
DC are nothing compared to Marvel on the movie front. Dark Knight franchise is all they've really got. Come on Avengers!!!
TheLight
TheLight - 6/14/2011, 7:28 AM
I don't believe that's the poster for "Man of Steel". "The Dark Knight Rises" looks authentic. Still not trusting of Snyder's hush hush about the progress.

@johnshadow24

Marvel only had one franchise going strong before this year with IM... The Hulk had the same Re-Boot issues as Superman Returns. Give DC time. By 2013 they will both have out enough properties to properly judge who is on top. Iron Man, HULK, Thor, Cap, and Avengers VERSUS Dark Knight, Superman, Green Lantern, (Flash and WW hopefully), and the planned Justice League film. I think that either way it goes we are all in for some great movies... Hell even fox is stepping it up with First Class, things have to get better!! Right?

@krypton38 @Maia87

first off ill admit after seeing it again and comparing the Reeve/Donner looks different this is more incline with the general shape of the Bluray set/Action Comics relaunch later this year...

2nd. no. the S hasnt been the same for 40 yrs it has been different in shape and angle and all that so F uCK YOU, if you go by that lil statement you said then the Returns s IS included.

3rd like (he who should not be named for itll anger ppls feelings) has just said looks like a new animated series that's being promo'd/teased cuz if you look at the bottom panels it seems that way

pitchblack - 6/14/2011, 9:08 AM
Okay... yeah... maybe DC should follow the advice here. Maybe if Marvel made the Iron Man 2 logo more unique it wouldn't have been such an average movie.
