In the Gotham television show, Harvey Bullock will be a Detective of the Gotham Police department. He'll be Jim Gordon's "rough-around-the-edges partner and mentor. Plays loose with police procedure, but he gets results... and he does it with old-school, forceful panache." Bullock's first appearance was in Detective Comics #441 (June 1974). He was portrayed a corrupt detective that was instructed by Gotham City's Mayor Hamilton Hill to foul-up Jim Gordon's investigations by making mistakes and being careless" on purpose. Over the decades, there's been several different takes on the character. Sometimes he is portrayed as good, other times he's corrupt. Sometimes he is shrewd while other times he is oafish. As for Batman, Harvey usually is depicted as a staunch opponent of The Dark Knight, but that too has not always been the case.

Growing up in Gotham City’s surrounding suburbs, JAMES GORDON (Ben McKenzie, “Southland,” “The O.C.”) romanticized the city as a glamorous and exciting metropolis where his late father once served as a successful district attorney. Now, two weeks into his new job as a Gotham City detective and engaged to his beloved fiancée, BARBARA KEAN (Erin Richards, “Open Grave,” “Breaking In”), Gordon is living his dream – even as he hopes to restore the city back to the pure version he remembers it was as a kid.

Brave, honest and ready to prove himself, the newly-minted detective is partnered with the brash, but shrewd police legend HARVEY BULLOCK (Donal Logue, “Sons of Anarchy,” “Terriers,” “Vikings,” “Copper”), as the two stumble upon the city’s highest-profile case ever: the murder of local billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. At the scene of the crime, Gordon meets the sole survivor: the Waynes’ hauntingly intense 12-year-old son, BRUCE (David Mazouz, “Touch”), toward whom the young detective feels an inexplicable kinship. Moved by the boy’s profound loss, Gordon vows to catch the killer.

Thankfully this is only a prequel, otherwise I'd complain he wasn't fat enough. Harvey is as American as Type 2 Diabetes.

So far, Donal is the only positive this show has. Everything about this show screams "cancelled". Especially JadaFish... She's a horrid actress.

well i'm not the only one wondering about a signal... maybe it's just to make general public aware of the fact that it's a batman's world

It's weird with the facial hair. This will probably mean Gordon won't have a stache.
BlackIceJoe
BlackIceJoe - 3/20/2014, 10:32 AM
Well I am happy to see they are at least going for the better version of Harvey in this show. The only thing weird is he's older then Gordon.

Why a bat-signal? Fox is [frick]ing up already...

So he's basically going to be 90 years old by the time Batman dons the cowl.

That's an....interesting twist, I guess.

It's not the bat-signal, it's uh........the um.......the BULLOCK signal! Yeah! That's what it is.........the Bullock signal................you guys THOUGHT that it was the bat-signal but that would be STUPID because, as they said, this ISN'T a Batman show.
Dedpool
Dedpool - 3/20/2014, 10:57 AM
I like the look. Very Noir-ish, much like the Batman:TAS. If they keep that vibe this should be a very good show.
