Despite sparking debates over the content of the movie, the Joaquin Phoenix-led
Joker looks set to do very well at the box office, as the online movie ticket retailer Atom Tickets recently revealed some interesting details on the advanced ticket sales for the film.
According to Atom Tickets (
via Deadline), the R-rated Warner Bros. feature has already exceeded the pre-sales for
Venom, the last comic book movie to swing into theaters in October. Unfortunately, the DC film still fell short of
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, which currently has the best pre-sales numbers for an R-rated movie this year on Atom Tickets.
Even though it didn't earn the number one spot,
Joker still looks poised to surpass
Venom's $80.2M opening weekend and set a new opening weekend record for the month of October.
Sitting at 77% on Rotten Tomatoes,
Joker will hit theaters on October 4, 2019 and stars the likes of Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz and Marc Maron.
