JOKER Officially Surpasses The Pre-Sale Numbers Of VENOM And IT CHAPTER TWO On Atom Tickets

Despite sparking debates over the content of the movie, the Joaquin Phoenix-led Joker looks set to do very well at the box office, as the online movie ticket retailer Atom Tickets recently revealed some interesting details on the advanced ticket sales for the film.

According to Atom Tickets (via Deadline), the R-rated Warner Bros. feature has already exceeded the pre-sales for Venom, the last comic book movie to swing into theaters in October. Unfortunately, the DC film still fell short of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, which currently has the best pre-sales numbers for an R-rated movie this year on Atom Tickets.

Even though it didn't earn the number one spot, Joker still looks poised to surpass Venom's $80.2M opening weekend and set a new opening weekend record for the month of October.

Sitting at 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, Joker will hit theaters on October 4, 2019 and stars the likes of Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz and Marc Maron.

The success of this movie will prove that GROUNDED superhero/supervillain films are what audiences want!

@Forthas - They dont need to all be grounded they just need to be good. Seriously there are a good amount of characters who just work better grounded and some who need the more out there tone. Like come on a grounded Guardians OF The Galaxy would just come off as a Star Wars knock off

@dracula - that very first GOTG Concept Art was more what I was hoping for from the actual film. A little darker and serious vibe from that drawing.

Hopefully one day when they reboot they go and take a swing that way.

In anticipation for Joker I rewatched Richard Donner's first Superman and Taxi Driver for the first time (I know I know I'm young)...and boy do I have some hot takes:

1. The Dark Knight is the most resemblant of Donner's Superman of all the modern cbms

2. Man of Steel may be dark but it's more campy and nowhere near as grounded, "gritty" or "realistic" as Donner's Superman

That is all kids.

Phoenix is clearly delivering the greatest acting achievement in a CBM since Heath Ledger. I can't wait.

Off topic to the third power, but I REALLY want a live action DragonBall series with a huge Hollywood budget. Or a film, but especially a series that's like 10 seasons long.
