According to a Twitter account, TDKR_News, whose evidently focused on keeping track of news regarding Christopher Nolan's much-anticipated film The Dark Knight Rises, actress Marion Cotillard discussed her 'Miranda Tate' role on a French radio station. Speaking briefly, the tweet reads:

Marion Cottilard discussed her role in #TDKR to a french radio station awhile ago. She said: "I start up again with the shooting of Christopher Nolan’s Batman"..."it’s a small role and a very comfortable one for a new mother"

Cotillard's 'Miranda Tate' role serves a member of the Wayne Enterprises board eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father's philanthropic endeavors for Gotham. Theres speculation, however, that that is just a cover up. What do you think?

The Dark Knight Rises' story details are being kept underwraps. It makes me laugh how when nolan says a character wont be in a film, everyone says its a cover up or a diversion, no riddler, cover up, no dick grayson, A FEMALE ROBIN, i play a small role, secretly talia! Joker wont be back, JGL looks like mr ledger! Is tom hardy secretly playing hugo strange!

I think she looks so much like Talia, as well as Joeseph looking like Alberto Falcone. But to be honest those are two obvious choises for those roles. Still think they are using too many Inception actors, which is fine, I love Inception. But I think they are in better roles. If they were Talia and Alberto, that would be a Spider-man 3 villain situation.

There are, Gordon Levitt, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard Michael Caine. Four Main actors coming back in. Two would be ok, but almost the same team is coming back together. Juno and Leo come in, don't be surprised when they whip out a brief case with with wrist wires inside. Too be honest I would love that synario, a Batman mixed Inception lmfao. I just want Nolan to cast outside his comfort zone and work with actors who would fit the role down pat. Use someone who would more fix Bane than Hardy, who I like, but I think someone like Javier Bardem would fit Bane to a T. Nolan is just comforted by certain actors: Christian Bale, Ken Watanabe, Michael Caine, Mark Boone Jr, Tom Hardy, Gordon-Levitt, Cillian Murphey, etc.

Absolutely not.
She will reveal herself as Talia in the half time or near at the end of the movie.
The most time she will appear as Miranda Tate,but she is Talia in disguise.
Marion doesn´t need to have fight scenes,because Talia usually does nothing too strenous.
She is and always was a love interest torn between her devotion to her father and her love for Bruce. Sure, there have been cases in which she can use their fighting skills, but she is not known for that.
I think she could have a fight with Catwoman, and very likely. It is not entirely out of character, and they can always use a stunt double for "hard" scenes.

Marion has plenty chances to be Talia.

We already have official confirmation of two core characters in the film; Catwoman and Bane. Why the hell would there be some conspiracy campaign to give people misinformation about an insignificant character? The woman said she has a small role which is good because she's pregnant. Why does it HAVE TO BE something covered up?

She's got gorgeous eyes. I like the little mole on her forehead too, imperfections are always nice.

I hope this movie isn't Spidey 3 or Last Stand. If they make Bane a legitimate badass then this could be amazing. Don't make him a moron Nolan, Bane is smart and cunning as hell.

I think Bane is going to be the only one with the connection to Ra´s. Ra´s is probably going to be his mentor too. If Talia is in it i doubt she has a big role. Bane and Catwoman are going to take the bigger parts no doubt.
Althought it would be cool if Cotillard turns out to be Talia but i dont cry over it if she doesnt.

With Nolan, there´s never too villains.
In BB we had Ra´s,Scarecrow,Falcone,Flass,Mr.Earle.
In TDK we had Joker,Two Face,Maroni,Chechen,Lau.
This conversation abt too many villains,is bs.
And in TDKR there will be "a third villain who will bring story full circle".

I´m confident the third villain is Talia in disguise as Miranda Tate.

1. Why would a Young Ra's Al Ghul (30 years younger than he was in Batman Begins) be featured in the film, if not for a flashback scene possibly with a child Talia?

2. Ever since "Miranda Tate" has been cast for this film, I wonder if she is Talia because the first sentence, on its own, in the IMDB description makes her sound like a potential outlier from most of the other characters:


"Portrayed by Marion Cottilard, Miranda Tate is a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne continue his father's philanthropic endeavors for Gotham. Miranda Tate is rumored to be Tahlia Al Ghul."

'Tahlia' is the spelling used on IMDB.

Yes...there are many evidences that points Miranda as Talia´s false identity...but there are some people refusing to see them.
For example...if Nolan really was casting a 10 year-old girl to play opposite Josh Pence (young Ra's) in India ...obviously is for child Talia´s role.
Small role doesn´t mean insignificant...is about the screentime,not about the character´s importance.
I think she will have less screentime than Bane and Catwoman,but she is an important character,crucial to the plot.
Like her father,in BB,for example .
He appeared at the beginning and at the end of the movie and was the MAIN VILLAIN...the mastermind.
The same must happen with Talia.
And I think she will manipulate Bruce(like Mal did to Cobb,in Inception),Miranda/Talia will mess with his mind...and in the right moment,she reveals herself as Talia.
