More Details On BATMAN: ARKHAM KNIGHT: "We've Put Everything We Have Into It"

Though it doesn't a reveal much, a section from a new issue of gaming magazine games™ has some details from Batman: Arkham Knight director Sefton Hill, who assures us that this is the Batman game Rocksteady has always wanted to make, and that there's no holding back.

games™ has posted an expert from their 151st issue, which has lengthy coverage on Rocksteady's upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight. They spoke to director Sefton Hill, who worked on Arkham Asylum and City, and explained that this next-gen current-gen title is the game they always wanted to make. "Ever since Batman: Arkham Asylum, our approach has been to put everything we have into every game we make," he said. "We never hold ideas back because you never know what’s around the corner. So I guess you could describe that as a 'kitchen sink' approach but I’d prefer to say it’s more of a 'live every game as if it’s your last' approach (mainly because it sounds more poetic)."

One of thing the studio is working hard to nail is the open world of Gotham, which has been partially featured in City and furthermore in WB Montreal's prequel, Arkham Origins, but this is a bigger, better, more immersive city thanks to new technology. "We’ve finally got the chance to show what the whole of Gotham City looks like in the Arkhamverse, and it’s huge: full of massive skyscrapers, dark grimy alleyways and glaring neon," Hill revealed. "And rain – we’ve spent a lot of time making the rain feel just right! The sun hardly ever shines in Gotham, and switching to new-gen consoles has made it possible for us to bring that unique atmosphere to life in a way that hasn’t been done before in gaming." There's plenty more within the issue, which is available both digitally and in print right now. Batman: Arkham Knight is currently without a release date, but is expected to arrive some time in 2015.
