New (Low-Res) TDKR Stills Feature Morgan Freeman As Lucius Fox

Some more low-res stills from EW have found their way online, giving us our first official look (from this movie anyway) at Freeman as Fox, alongside a bathrobed Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne. There are also some new stills of Catwoman and John Blake..

The pics from EW keep coming, with this latest one giving us out first (blurry) official look at Morgan Freeman as Bruce Wayne's trusted weapons expert Lucius Fox. Of course we have seen Freeman portray the character in both of Nolan's previous Batman movies, but this is our first time seeing any images of him from The Dark Knight Rises outside of leaked set pics..

If you look closely at the newspaper Bale is holding it seems to feature a pic of Batman, but good look making out what it says! There could be a few more pics from the mag on the way so keep an eye out.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The screenplay is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster "The Dark Knight." The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. The film is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.

I get the feeling Bale is going to kill it in this movie. Fresh off his Oscar win and his final Batman movie. I think he has done a great job in the first 2 despite his growly Batvoice, but this one seems to be putting Batman through hell and back. I think his rise and return to take back Gotham will be nothing short of epic.

Why doesn't anyone do their research about the Bat voice!!

BALE DID NOT DO THE VOICE. I REPEAT, BALE DID NOT DO THE VOICE. Nolan edited it in post production, NOLAN EDITED IT IN POST PRODUCTION

@Spiderfan

From IMDB:

"The infamous growl performed by Christian Bale was much rougher in this film than Batman Begins and has been parodied countless times due to its extreme nature, however the common misconception is that Christian Bale was fully responsible for this voice. The real voice during filming was more toned down and then heightened to a rougher, grittier vibe during post-production under the decision of director Christopher Nolan."

You all see? Poor Christian Bale gets all the attention for it

@wonderer: Well I'm told by many people on this site that IMDB is not overly reliable but that aside, if it's true then I guess I will have to shift some of my disappointment to Nolan 'cause I do not like it.

Oh well, only one more go around, we'll see what happens with it in TDKR.

Hey, it's Morgan Freeman standing around just being a black guy :D he's always kind of reminded me of my grandpa, especially in Wanted.

@thewonderer: the average person isn't going to stop and do research as to why his voice sounded that way, they're just going to go with the simplest logic available, what they see and hear at the time, and run with it. Ergo, they see Christian Bale as Batman, they hear a voice while Batman mouths the words...they think Christian Bale did the voice.

LoudNoises - 4/11/2012, 7:59 PM
@thewonderer- that's interesting, I wasn't aware they did post voice editing on Batman's voice. Whatever the case may be I didn't mean to imply that the batvoice bothered me at all. I was fine with it. That must have really shocked Bale when he saw the movie for the first time tho. "that's not my bloody voice! You are trashing my voice!! Do I walk around trashing your IMAX cameras??!!!"

...Lol

Why oh why did they have to cast the sexual black hole that is Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.

Morgan Freeman on the other hand, makes wearing a bow tie look cool.

What's Bane wearing? Looks like a fireman suit. Who cares? Go Nolan! Looks like he's going for the rich of the city at some bank/stockmarket looking place. Or maybe the courthouse hime and Batman fight outside of.

Maybe Fox is telling Bruce that the Earthquake Machine (or whatever Bane's earthquake machine is called) that Wayne Enterprise built has been stolen.

Maybe Fox is telling Bruce about the scientist Bane kidnaps.

Maybe Fox is telling Bruce about an awesome want ad he saw in the paper.

But I think this looks like it takes place around the same time as when you see Bruce looking down on the Harvey Dent memorial in the trailer.

Also, the 'TW" on the robe is perfect. Love that detail.

@SmellofDuty: I believe bane wears the clothes of the people working at the stock exchange. Looks like wall street speculation is gonna fit into the film. At first i thought he looked like he was a dictator spying on people in a very near future. He has so many outfits in this film, which he should, because obviously he has to adapt to any given situation.
