RESULTS: What Do You Think Of Bane's Voice?

A few days ago, an audio file was leaked featuring Tom Hardy's Bane delivering a speech to the terrified citizens of Gotham City. However, it wasn't quite what anyone was expecting! Sounding raspy, breathless and to some "old manish", it's clear that this will be a different take on Bane than previous versions heard in animated series and video games. When I asked you what you thought of The Dark Knight Rises version, you voted in your thousands, and made it clear that you're not at all happy with it! Between this and the negative reaction to the reveal of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, are you losing faith in this movie?!

Personally, I don't think we need to be worried about this movie at all. This is Christopher Nolan we're talking about! Bane sounds a little different? I'm sure there's a good reason for it. After all, I remember the negative reaction to the first image of Heath Ledger as The Joker, and we all know how that turned out...

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Tom Blake
Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate
Josh Pence as Ra's Al Ghul

RELEASE DATE: July 20th, 2012

THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 8/8/2011, 1:31 PM
I honestly expected something like this for his voice. I don't like it, but it was the direction I expected Nolan to go

Though it does sound rather shitty. I am expecting them to clean it up a bit in editing

ONCE WE KNOW HOW NOLAN IS APPROACHING BANE AND WHY HE MADE HIS VOICE THAT WAY, THEN WE'LL GET IT. I'M BASING MY HOPES FOR THIS ON THE LAST 2 BATMAN MOVIES, I JUST WANNA SEE WHERE HE TAKES IT BEFORE I PASS ANY KIND OF JUDGMENT.

I would just like to take this opportunity to say that this poll is I dumb idea and tell everyone to calm the [frick] down. His voice will sound fine in the finished film.
THEHAWK
THEHAWK - 8/8/2011, 1:39 PM
is voice work seemed rough and ameturish, still, it beats some of my voice work

Supes17
Supes17 - 8/8/2011, 1:39 PM
Well there's probably a reason why he sounds like that... It sounds like it is painful for him to speak..There must be something really [frick]ed up with him.

And there's a reason why sound mixers and sound editors exist ppl, Nolan's crew won and oscar in both categories this year.

In all seriousness though, I include polls in a few articles because it's another way of you guys sharing your thoughts. (particularly useful if you don't have an account) For example, the one about the Superman suit got 10,000 votes and the article itself got only 1000 or so comments. :)

@ironman53, yea it would be nice if he kinda did what he did with scarecrow in the last movie. except maybe this time he sneaks in to visit him in arkham, telling him this is where he belongs or something long those lines

I miss the edit button lol

@Josh I have to agree taht I think the film is in safe hands. Nolan seems to have a vision that he is sticking to and is not going to give into studio or fan demands
WellDrawn
WellDrawn - 8/8/2011, 1:42 PM
The last movie got so much flack for Bale's 'throat cancer' voice, I think Nolan will be on the look out for crazy voice acting.

seriously?
a leaked unclear voice that hasnt been filtered yet and there are people actually believing this is how it's gonna be in the final cut and an idiot making a poll about it???

Josh dont worry about people complaining about the pools. Keep making them because its good to see how people feel about certain things instead of looking through 1000 comments.

Nice Poll. But you guys are judging his voice that was recorded over a cell phone in a almost crowded stadium. That makes absolutley no sense.
Gmoney84
Gmoney84 - 8/8/2011, 1:54 PM
This makes me think of how some of the crew must have felt while filming Star Wars in '77. They were like, "This British dude can't act for shet!". Then low and behold James Earl Jones destroyed history...and that's all I have to say about that.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 8/8/2011, 1:54 PM
Thanks TayDee. My thoughts exactly. And it's not like I do "Results" articles for every single one! Hmm...that gives me an idea! ;)

Hey what's wrong with polls?
JatevinM
JatevinM - 8/8/2011, 1:59 PM
In all honesty I find this poll and article to be quite stupid and useless considering Bane's voice may not even sound like that in the movie. For all we know they are going to tweak the hell out of it make him sound like Michael Clark Duncan.
OdinsBeard
OdinsBeard - 8/8/2011, 2:00 PM
Scarecrow wore a suit
Gordon has brown hair
Ras Al Ghul was Henri Ducard in desguise
Harvey Dent had blond hair
Joker had long hair, actual scars, and face paint
Batman's suit is entirely black

when is everyone going to stop bitching about changes (from the comic) before they even see the movie?

"*whah whah whah* - oh wait, the movie is going to end up being my favorite and one of the best of all time?? Bane's mask is still stupid! im only going to see this twice in the theatre!"
Robicon

Ehh....I bet his voice changes when he juices up.
JackBauer
JackBauer - 8/8/2011, 2:01 PM
Relax peole. that's just how he ounds talking through his mask. It'll sound nothing like that once they put the movie magic to it.

i am actually surprised there weren't more people voting in the negative on this one since the majority of people on here tend to overreact and don't place things in context - wait until the movie comes out to say something about it, you end up not sounding like an idiot.

i don't understand why it's necessary to complain nearly as much as some of you do since you can't do a single thing about these movies that are in production, especially with fits and malformed arguments.

lastly, "meh...", seriously? there were people who voted that had no opinion whatsoever?
