The Batman 2 Leak: Fans Are Convinced Matt Reeves Hinted At Sequel's Two-Face Actor Months Ago

Following yesterday's The Batman - Part II leak, fans have gone back to take a closer look at some of director Matt Reeves' old X posts to see if he dropped any hints...

Yesterday, several major spoilers for Matt Reeves' The Batman - Part II surfaced from an unlikely source: the makeup team behind former model Heidi Klum's latest incredibly elaborate Halloween costume.

Mike Marino's ProRenFX, which also worked on Reeves' beleaguered sequel, shared a behind-the-scenes photo of Klum's gruesome, severed hand outfit, and some interesting details relating to the long-awaited movie were spotted in the background.

Some fans were convinced that this might have been a deliberate attempt to trick people (highly unlikely), but the Insta post was deleted shortly after the details began to circulate.

Along with a container labeled "Zsasz," one labeled "Owl 3," and another labeled "Koch" (possibly suggesting that actor Sebastian Koch will also don prosthetics to play his mysterious character), a face mold that looks a lot like Brian Tyree Henry would seem to confirm that the Eternals actor is indeed playing Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

If Henry is playing Dent, we can probably assume the rumor that Sebastian Stan is actually playing twisted serial killer Victor Zsasz is also accurate.

Fans have now gone back over the X posts Reeves shared when he officially announced the movie's new cast members, and some are convinced that the "Welcome to the party, man…" caption on Henry's post was a hint that he is really playing Dent.

"Partyman" is the name of the song Prince released for the soundtrack of Tim Burton's Batman, and the music video features the late artist wearing the Joker's makeup on half of his face (the crowd also wears similar masks).

While this is obviously not a direct nod to Dent, Prince does look more like Two-Face than the Joker in the video, and we could see Reeves using this as a clever clue for someone to put the pieces together.

Then again, there's every chance fans are reading way too much into this!

Production recently resumed, with Steven Soderbergh stepping behind the camera to finish principal photography after Reeves was forced to leave the set to deal with an ongoing family matter.

"Just to be clear, I am not leaving The Batman Part II," Reeves clarified on social media after the news broke. "I am profoundly grateful to Steven for coming to my aid during this challenging time to help me finish principal photography. Thank you to all for your concern and well wishes."

Robert Pattinson has shared his thoughts on Soderbergh stepping in to help finish the film.

"I am so happy he's come on to help Matt," the Primetime star told GamesRadar. "It's incredibly generous of him – and he's doing it in the loveliest way. It's completely selfless."

"I think Matt had put so much work into the script, and we're almost done," Pattinson continued. "So for someone to come in and say, 'I just want to help Matt do it; I want to do it in conjunction with him and just get it to the edit.' And to have someone who's as talented as Steven doing it is great."

Pattinson also confirmed that cameras are rolling again. "I think they're in production already. And I'm starting in a couple of days."

DC Studios previously revealed that Soderbergh was the one who approached Reeves with the offer of help. Reeves is believed to have completed around two-thirds of the film, so the Ocean's Eleven director does still have a bit of work ahead of him.

The Batman - Part II is set to hit theaters on February 18, 2028.

Talk about wrong for the role. Race swap aside, the actor isn’t that good and Dent is supposed to be handsome. At least Billy Dee was a good looking guy. That’s believable and makes the character more compelling because his looks were so important to him and now he’s a freak-show. It’s part of the character and his mental state. What a terrible start.

@Bucky74 - I’ve only seen him in one movie: Bullet Train. I thought he was good in it. Fun, weird movie. How will he be as Dent if he is Dent? No idea, different than in Bullet Train I hope.

@Truebeliever333 - He’s known for being a comedic actor and his looks alone is completely wrong. Dent is vain and concerned with his looks. He takes care of himself. That’s part of the reason he’s so devastated when his face is ruined

@Bucky74 - Good points.

@Bucky74 - Yah I'd agree. I'll be very disappointed about this if it's true. I was hoping he was going to be Bullock, that would have been way better casting. He's not suited for Dent. Major bummer.

@Bucky74 - you're incorrect. He is NOT known for being a comedic actor. His role on Atlanta was NOT comedic, even though there were some comedic situations. He got lots of women on that show also, so you should realize that since they didn't consult you, they did not consider YOUR standard of who is and isn't attractive when casting the role, but women DO find him attractive. He is a VERY good actor also, and will kill it as Harvey Dent. If you ever saw the confidence, bravado and charm he displays on the show Atlanta alone, you'd know he would be a perfect Harvey Dent. He also was VERY good on "this is Us", "Dope Thief", "Bullet Train" and "Causeway". He also does voice acting and voiced Jefferson Davis in the Spider-Verse movies and Megatron in "Transformers One".
Be dope of people had knowledge of someone's work before criticizing them, as nothing you said about this actor was accurate.

@Tufasrox - He does have that Bullock frame for sure. That character was heart in the animated series

@DarkeyeZ - Everything I’ve seen him in has him playing a bafoon and comic relief. Also, fat is fat and not everything is attractive. You must be one of those who supports 400 pound Victoria Secrets models, lol

@dragon316 - They still made him look like Bruce in those films

Unbelievable how we just had a dark, mostly grounded Clayface movie, but Reeves couldn’t use him in this film because he apparently wasn’t “grounded” enough, so now we’re just gonna see villains already seen in Nolan’s films.

I don't believe for a second this was a "leak"; this reminds me of those Doomsday teasers that kept "leaking" months ago before being released officially. This was a clear marketing move by WB to generate hype for the movie after all the negative news.

I mean , it would be a clever clue if that is what Reeves meant but I doubt it tbh.

It feels more like people doing this…

That's really cool, if intentional.
