Funny how "The Hobbit" and "Breaking Dawn Part 2" were not on the Most Anticipated films list. lol.

It's not that surprising. People know GI Joe, Battleship, and MIB more than The Avengers.

Fantastic Four, X-Men, Spider-man would all rank higher than The Avengers.

I wouldn't read too much into these ratings either way i mean Gossip Girl, How I met your mother and Glee are in the top 10 tv shows and The Wire, Sopranos or Arrested Development aren't even on the list?

not surprised by TDK or TDKR but why isn't Man of Steel on the most anticipated list.. maybe because not a lot has been released. maybe no one really knows about it besides fans..

MTV did a poll of with over 1 million young adults (18-25 is typically what is considered a young adult) and TDKR and Avengers only made up a tiny percentage of the poll for most anticipated film of 2012. Hunger Games won out. Point is... there are numerous polls and opinions out there as to what the most anticipated film is and many differ depending on the demographic involved with the poll. Same goes with the other categories. That is IMDb's results. It's one piece to a much larger picture.

wow, I can't believe Donnie Darko is on there... good movie but I would have never expected that one.
Prison break should be on the top 10. I love that series... well season 3 was meh but that's about it.
Battleship looks [frick]ing stupid. It looks like it's trying to copy Bay's Transformers and just using Battleship as the name to market it.

P.S. Godfather FTW!

Marvel movies don't really have much replay value because the stories are so basic. I saw Iron Man twice and I could still remember everything about it. Batman Begins and TDK have a deeper film experience with more engagement.

Veeeryy good.

How the hell are Battleship and The Dictator more anticipated than The Avengers?

I doubt these will correspond much with box office or really even show how anticipated a movie is.

When I heard they were making a Bettleship movie I definitely said "wow, I can't believe they are actually doing that." I then Imdbed it to see what actors had sold out for the paycheck. I will not be seeing it in the theatre though.

MIB3!?! I mean Expendables 2 in o it. If you guys look into this list, then you all must be fu*ked in the head!

It doesn't matter when the movie was released because the poll is based off of a ranking meter that has been recorded in the last 10 years.

Something making TDK look like Batman & Robin...funniest thing I've heard all week.

But yeah, I found the list's credibility gone when I saw Twilight there.
Minghagz

To me... for a movie that was released in 1972 and still having people rank it into the top 10 in the last 10 years is impressive. Just goes to show how well that movie stands up.
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 1/25/2012, 11:46 AM
According to Film101 rankings, LOTR is #1 over the past 10 years and TDKR is #51. The highest ranked Harry Potter film is the Deathly Hollows Part 2 at #164

Like I said, it all depends on who is voting and the source.

"I guarantee The Avengers is gonna flop.

Why is the main villan Loki, didn't Thor already beat that dude. Now they need an entire team to take that fool down and his little army.

Come on get serious, can't believe that Marvel have been producing film after film that are bascically filler for this turd of a film.

1. THE AVENGERS are gonna own.

2. Well for starters, In the comics, Loki was the very first supervillain that the first incarnation of the Avengers (Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Giant Man, and Wasp) fought against, so in that aspect theyre staying truthful to the comics.
Little army? Much more threatening than little tiny winy 5'8" Bane. Lol.

3. With Joss Whedon, who directed Serenity aka one of the best and critically acclaimed movies ever, on board, it's gonna do great. A lot more entertaining than TDKR aka BRINGING CHAOS TO GOTHAM part 3.

If you really think about it, BB and TDKR film experience is no more complex than the others IMO. BB = Bruce Wayne becomes Batman from parents death, and fights Scarecrow, the mob, and Ra's Al Ghul from bringing chaos to Gotham. TDK = Batman fights the mob and Joker who brings chaos to Gotham, Dent becomes corrupted from Jokers influence and Dawes' death.
Nothing too deep or complex about that.

@Ranger14

It's not like they took a survey and asked people what the best films of the last 10 years were or what the most anticipated films are. This poll is based on number of views. You can say that there are pieces of info missing from this survey, such as demographic but imdb is arguably the most popular movie based website on the internet. I'd say this is about as accurate as you can get. You can't argue with statistics.

Considering that IMDB probably has one of the largest data pools, their polls are better than most.
