The Dark Knight Rises: Catwoman Role Was A Dream Come True for Anne Hathaway

The Dark Knight Rises: Catwoman Role Was A Dream Come True for Anne Hathaway

The actress is promoting her new movie One Day and she spoke with Access Hollywood at the premiere about her deep desire to be Catwoman.

"Oh I love it! I love it," the actress told Access when asked about her Catwoman suit.

"A lot of questions that I used to get asked were, 'So, every girl when she grows up wants to be a princess, did you want to be a princess when you grew you?'" Anne told Access. "And I so wish I'd said what I felt back then, because the truth was, 'No, I wanted to be Catwoman!' And now I am... That dream came true, for sure."

"So many great women have worn [the costume] before me," the actress explained. "It's an honor to don the suit."

So many wonderful actresses have portrayed the sexy role of Catwoman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Halle Berry, Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, and Eartha Kitt. I'd say my two favorites are Pfeiffer and Newmar. I'm hoping Anne will top them all, but that's all tall order for any actress.

The good news is that she is all but a sure thing to be better than the atrocious performance that Halle Berry turned in.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.

Holy god, stop front paging all these damn articles. We get it, Anne Hathaway enjoys being paid tons of money to be in next year's biggest action movie in an iconic character. Christ.

Same goes for you too xizorkatarn. Yeah I bet the editors of this site are like, "OH NO! xizorkatarn doesn't like news about Anne Hathaway playing Catwoman! Sweet mercy! From now on, no more stories about Anne Hathaway playing Catwoman! xizorkatarn might get upset!".

I would love to see a scene where Halle Berry comes in amidst the chaos in her catsuit only to get dropkicked by Bane. Then as Bane walks away to fight Batman, she starts to get up only to be railed by Anne Hathaway on her stolen Batpod.

@nailbiter111- NICE FIND!

She seems really enthusiastic about being Catwoman. Hopefully she puts that same amount of enthusiasm into her role.

I want the sexy michelle pfeifer type of Catwoman to come back. lol

@Polygame, what crisis did you refer? The shooting is not even close to end... oh, got ya: a crisis of bunch of faggots fanboys whining for tiny shit, complaining about some rough set pics and the lack of cat ears... yeah, THAT is a crisis!

Its annoying to hear actors and actresses who are playing in comic book movies say they have always wanted to be character x,y,z when growing up. It always seems a bit hard to swallow. If I was getting paid a couple of million to do it and then a couple more after the film, I might just say I always wanted to play x,y,z too.

Ben Afleck made the same statements. Later on he ended up cursing at the comic book movie afterwards.

@tokenofkrypton i know right. i tend to disbelieve all actors that say that they even like the characters when they say they do or that they always dreamed of playing those characters.

@xizorkatarn, nope I didn't miss it at all. And um, if you call my comment "arguing" you are a very sad person. What I was simply saying (obviously not simple enough for your adolescent mind) was that not everyone agrees with you. Other people, including myself, like to read stuff like this.

@ajax so true! I think Anne looks better with short hair! - so much more sexier.
and if you think about it, a master thief would have shorter hair .. less likely to leave hair samples at the scene!

@asianversionofET: no offense to you or anything in my comment. it just seems like she has had a lot of coverage but hasn't said much due to being sworn to secrecy because of the silence about all details of the movie. i wasn't trying to discredit the write of this article, the editors who decided to post this to main, or this site in anyway. i am looking forward to this movie even more than anne hathaway has been talking about it! lol sincerely, sorry for getting you mad
