In partnership with Warner Bros., Saturday night's game against the North Queensland Cowboys has been named "Storming the Knight" and will see Australian Rugby League multiple time champions the Melbourne Storm wear a "specially designed The Dark Knight Rises jersey".

The match will be also specially themed, with the Batman (hopefully Christian Bale, not likely) coming onto the field. It will involve the fans also, encouraging them to bring their favourite superhero costumes. The club will offer ticket packages which include a general admission ticket with a cape and headpiece.

Here is the jersey...

The Dark Knight Rises jerseys are available at melbournestormshop.com.au.

@Spidey yes, Mountain Dew partnership with a DKR-specific flavor. hunt for the Batman symbols all over the world to unlock frames of trailer #3, X-Box 360 partnership, MTV Movie Awards trailer, Nokia trailer, 6 minute prologue, search for Batman viral documents, Lucius Fox letters to Bruce, Harvey Dent Act, Chrysler contest, t-shirt design contest, TheFireRises viral game just to name a few.

Yeah, sad marketing indeed.

A member from SHH by the name of CapedCrusader14 pointed this out. Something to due with Australia's release date of TDKR and the great fire of Rome.

"Still can't believe the coincidental date between the Aussie release date for TDKR and the Great Fire of Rome (19th of July). A fire brought one of the ancient world's greatest cities to the ground. A fire (in this case Bane) will destroy the world's greatest city as "the world watches in horror".
