@Shunt... On the contrary. Ever since TDKR's Catwoman has popped up, I'm seeing all these Phiffer Catwoman pics and animated gifs and some times captioned with eye-rolling things like "Nolan, your move". lol The [frick] does that even mean?

I think back in the day, Phiffer's Catwoman was well-recieved for the most part. But I think most of this new found over-the-top love for her is suspect. I mean, who really thinks Catwoman should show up in Nolan's film with a plastic costume covered in stitches. You already know he's not going to do that.

Mutha[frick]as be hatin.

Hey Nolan, ya wanna talk realism? How come Selina aint wearin a crash helmet? I bet ridin a Batpod without a helmet is aginst the law in most states..

Forget the cowl, they're gonna give her a crash helmet!

I voted for the cowl. But overall I would say all of the above minus the tail. A tail would just look ridiculous. The whip I can live without. But she's a cat so she MUST have claws. She's a villain so she needs something to cover her face not just her eyes so the cowl is a must. Batman is supposed to be an ultimate detective. He would be able to figure out who it is if only her eyes were covered but the rest of her face is exposed.

There's a simple rule in Nolan's adaptations to the screen, only do it if it makes sense!

Is she called Catwoman because she dresses up like a cat for no reason or because she is what is commonly known as a "cat" burglar? If the latter then why the frak would she wear a cat-like cowl?

If she can access high tech gadgets and weapons just like anyone else in the criminal world then what fraking use is a whip?

I know fanboys just want the pages from the comic on screen but what's made Nolan's films popular amongst the wider more sensible audiences is their common sense rule and approach to realism. I think his Catwoman is just a woman who became a cat burglar to steal stuff, not to imitate cats and wear a cowl and mimic tail! Her high-tech goggles cover up the essential parts of her face and she ties her hair back to as basic as it gets. In the day she simply styles it and nobody will know the difference unless they knew her personally and met her in both guises.

Same thing with the whip, absolutely no need for her to have one other than the silly comic thing of saying she has a "Cat" o'nine tails whip. Corny, stupid bollocks! Cats don't have whips and the average burglar would be hard pressed to add it to his useful high tech arsenal for any reason other than for show! They will probably call her Catwoman because she's a burglar and always seems to cheat death hence the nine lives of a cat thing playing to the name. Not because she collects the feline creatures and wants to dress up as a symbol like Batman. By the end of the movie however, she may have endured enough to take that theatrical approach the way Batman did.

@Ceejay Indiana Jones found plenty of practicle uses for his whip.

Also they can only take "realism" so far in comic book movies. Even for a non powered type like Batman. The scarecrow in the first just kept telling me oh these are comic book characters, we appologize.

You cant make superheroes "realistic" and still be super. I wish they would stop thst crap. I mean the whole new Superman movie they want to make a story about an alien from another planet that has crazy superhuman strength and can fly but they want to make it "realistic" Maybe they should took Thor and had a "realistic" approach to a fictional race of norse gods, or a realistic approach to a guy that when he gets angry he turns eight feet tall and green and jumps 3 miles.
