Sir Michael Caine invoked the wrath of director Christopher Nolan after publicly discussing his role in the upcoming Batman movie.

The British actor, who plays butler Alfred Pennyworth in the franchise, landed in trouble after accidentally leaking top-secret details about The Dark Knight Rises, the third and final instalment in Nolan's Batman films.

Now the veteran star has vowed to remain tight-lipped about the hit franchise to keep from further upsetting the filmmaker.

He tells Britain's Daily Express, "I'm lucky to be able to mention the title. I've already got in trouble for mentioning I'm working on it and that we're filming. Chris phoned saying, 'Why did you say that? You shouldn't have said that!'"

"The Dark Knight Rises", starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Jospeh-Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cottilard, and Morgan Freeman is set to be released July 20, 2012!

This is old news! Michael Caine was talking about when he mentioned that it was filming in May, back in like January, When I read the title of this post I assumed he'd dropped the ball again!

I dont blame Nolan. Cain has been known to have a big mouth. He had been talking about The Dark Knight Rises long before it was confirmed.
He also ruined the ending to Inception by telling everyone that it was real and that the top stopped spinning. He gives out way too much info.
Surprised he hasn't said more. I'd be a little pissed as well if I was a filmaker working on a movie like this.
Caine's an amazing actor, though

@Superman, well that kinda ruined inception for me, but its fine I thought it did that cause of the wabbaling

Superman@ I'm pretty sure everyone knew it was real anyway because the top started wobbling.

Sorry dude lol. Nolan didnt confirm it though. The point was that the ending was supposed to be ambiguous, and he jst went out and talked out his ass lol.
I don't care if he's right about the ending or not, you're not supposed to "spoil the magic", specially when the dramatic effect of the ending depends on that.
I remember ppl screaming at the IMAX yelling "Come on!", "NO", "Is he stuck in Limbo?!"
I also remeber Caine talking about The Riddler and Penguin being "strong candidates" for the story...
Cobb only wears his wedding ring in real scenes. Hes wearing it in the end..
@runDTC: Did you see him in Jaws the Revenge? Lmao
Supes17
Supes17 - 6/29/2011, 7:33 AM
@Jatevin: I know that but its supposed to make you doubt it for a minute, make you go back and rethink it...make you question the ending and your own reality, almost like Nolan was performing Inception in your mind all long.....
Then Caine comes in "Nah dude its real"
I can picture Nolan doing a facepalm

Nolan:" Sir Caine, please understand the importance of secrecy concerning the ending of this trilogy..."
Caine: *looks at crowd like a child with tourettes unable to keep his mouth shut* "okay"
Nolan: "Thank You"
Caine:*blurts out* "Bane's muscles will be CGI and Catwoman dies at the end!"
Nolan: "Dude, what the bloody [frick]?"(hes British)

@ROBBEATZZZ- Dude you're a marvel-troll. The Nolan bat-films are a million X better than your lackluster Thor film.

Deal with it.

TheLight - 6/29/2011, 10:38 AM
Big deal, Nolan. Yeah you're a great filmmaker, but it's not as if you're the first to tackle on bringing Batman's world to life. People would find out anyway.

Micheal Caine is the man, he knew he was going to get in trouble and he did it anyway. Nolan's just lucky Bale hasn't gone batshit on him like he did on Terminator lol.

@thorverine: LP4's right tho
TDK made more $ domestically than Thor did worldwide.
Hes not a DC troll, he trash talked GL just like the rest of us.
TDK had 8 oscar noms. and made over a $1 billion
Not biased, just stating the facts
I think that the producer/writer/director of the film has the right to do the film his way. Caine is a paid actor, thats his job. He should keep his mouth shut and respect the hardwork thats being put into this film

I'd feel the same if I were Nolan. The 300 million dollar budget can't risk losing any income it would earn through anticipation.

He hasn't learnt his lesson.

He says in this months Empire about The Dark Knight Rises:

"Chris said to me, "You're one of only four people who have the end.""

So that pretty much means Alfred is involved in the end of the movie???

Ah bless him, he's 78 now. Between remembering his age and telling everyone what it is I'm impressed he knows where he is let alone what he's doing.

Just having fun, non-story really.

But some you need to cut Nolan some slack, who knows what crap some asshole suit at Warners is giving him everytime Sir Michael drops a bollock.
