Hello am the guy known for just about every crazy theory ever made. But hear me out folks because this one will totally blow your mind! Now we don't know the plot of Dawn of Justice yet but we do know much about the "new" reinvention of Batman which sees him as being much older in vein of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and from the looks of the first official photo there is a very sleek looking Batmobile which does have attributes of the Tumbler which appeared in the Nolan Batman films. Now assuming how much older this Batman is, he must have gone through quite more than a few many villains in his prime. Mainly The Joker and countless others. But how does the all too different Nolan version of Batman fit in with this universe? No it's not a continuation and no it's not a continuation with elements of a reboot, the Nolan Batman universe simply exists as an entire dream sequence.
That's right people, to the new Batman, the events of all the Nolan Batman films was a well placed dream. Mainly taking hints from the first official photo of Dawn of Justice and yes as I have said before, that Batmobile sure took a lot of inspirations from The Tumbler. Also to that, in the Nolan Batman films, there wasn't exactly any other hero present than Batman. Keep in mind this is the DC universe and to not have any other hero within the world seems to be a bit far stretched. They did expand to other places than Gotham such as Japan, but it seemed Batman still remained the centric and the only hero. And don't say the Burton and Schumaker Batman verse didn't have any other hero because as mentioned in Batman & Robin, "This is why Superman works alone."
Now what about the villains in the Nolan Batman films. Lets list them off; Scarecrow, Ra's Al Ghul, The Joker, Two-Face, Bane, and Talia. Not a long list of villains but villains that the Ben Affleck Batman have probably already encountered. Also asides from what has been seen of them in the films, there exact relation may have been scrambled within. As sometimes a dream is just a placement of events and characters taken in an alternate view. Which with that in mind, the Nolan Batman verse took an alternate view at those villains the Ben Affleck Batman in Dawn of Justice has encountered previously. Which practically leaves an open window on most of them to say they still exist but in a different light.
The next question might be to add, who dreamed the dream? The answer, it's a connected dream. Every character's dream has been connected to place in one huge event explaining the length of the stories. From the flashback sequence at the beginning of Batman Begins to the ending of The Dark Knight Rises which sees the rise of new Batman protege and the retirement of Bruce Wayne Batman. And yes the Batman statue in Gotham practically hints to that dream also.
